Old Disney Park photos

I've really enjoyed looking at all these pictures. It brings back alot of memories. Here are two pictures taken in October 1972. I'm the little girl in the flower overalls and my brother is in the striped overalls. My parents really did not take too many pictures but these ones were cute sorry about the quality, but they are old pictures.

My pictures aren't that great as they are digital images of copies of the originals :sad2: and I think I may have posted some of these before. I have a few more, but can't find them right now... this is enough for now anyway

Enjoy!!

LOL, the receding hairline is too funny! :rotfl2: Wonder if Disney planned it like that on purpose?

Wow!!! These Old Photos are Awesome!
My dad keeps saying he's got a bunch for me, but they're remodeling their house and the last thing he wants to do is go through boxes....

But here are some I've found:
This one is a letter that was sent to me back in '95. It doesn't seem That long ago, but look at the font and read the letter to check out the NEW attractions:

Someone refresh my memory, when did the skyway go away?

I haven't read ahead to see if your question had been answered, but I found this write up. :( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incidents_at_Disney_parks

Skyway
Main article: Skyway (Disney)
On February 14, 1999, 65-year-old part-time custodian Raymond Barlow was critically injured when he fell off the Skyway ride. He was cleaning the Fantasyland Skyway station platform when the ride was accidentally turned on. Barlow was in the path of the ride vehicles, and grabbed a passing gondola in an attempt to save himself. He lost his grip and fell 40 feet, landing in a flower bed near the Dumbo ride. He died shortly after being taken to a local hospital. The Skyway ride, which had been scheduled to be closed before the accident occurred, was permanently closed on November 11, 1999.[31] As a result of the accident, OSHA fined Walt Disney World US$4,500 for violating federal safety codes in that work area.

It's a riot to see how the characters have changed!

They really have! I cracked up when I saw the picture of my mom with King Louie and compared it to the one in 2004-who'd of thought a character would have a 'receding hair line!!!:lmao: ... and check out Chip's "neck".

Keep these old ones coming- I love them!

OMG The hair just cracked me up. It brought back aqua net memories.

I lost that style in the early '90's after I had my girls (after you have kids, who has time:goodvibes ....
I was wearing it like that back in the 80's...I guess I'm older than you.....
I remember me and my girlfriends would have contests to see how high we could get it.
I got it up to 7" once:rotfl:
"The Claw"? We didn't call it that -where I grew up in The Bronx, it was Supreme Cujene - the Italian Cujenette look....

i was born in '76, but i definitely had the big 80's/early '90's hair in junior high and my freshman year of high school. i think i lost my big hair somewhere around '92. and i get "the claw" from my DH....my sister-in-law still curls her bangs and he calls her "the claw." yes, i know...not very nice. but very funny! :rotfl2:

the castle cake was a shock (instant hatred! ) the first time I saw it, however by the end of my 2 weeks there I must say that it had grown on me

I need to see if my mom still has any photo from when our trips there in the 70s

The castle was decorated like a cake when we went on our honeymoon in 96. I hadn't been since the 80's and when I saw the castle I was so disappointed. But it was amazing nonetheless. I have pics of me when I was little, some from my first visit at 2yo in 1974. The memories of the old family trips are the reason why I take my kids now and we keep going back.

I finally found some of my pictures when I went to WDW before my senior year of high school.

The trees in this picture are no longer there, as far as I can tell this was taken on the Castle side of the Partners statue.

I just found some slides I didn't know I had!!!

I've known I have some pictures from either my 1978 trip or my 1980 trip, but not too many. Unfortunately my parents didn't seem to take too many pictures for some reason. :confused3 There are some parade pictures, and there's a picture of me with Tigger. I was complaining that there weren't more pictures of me with characters, and my mom said that was my fault, I didn't want to have much to do with them. Ok, I can buy that, I'm just kind of getting over that now. :rotfl:

But I just decided to go look through some slides in the basement. Among probably the latest slides we have are some from our 1978 trip. There are a couple of the carousel. (I'm assuming that's at WDW. I'm only looking at it held up against the light, so I can't see details.) Then there's some sort of stage show of the Three Little Pigs. Then there's the Grand Prix Raceway. There are several that look like they're taken from the Skyway. Then there are Goofy, Mickey, and Donald from what looks like a parade.

I'll try to get them scanned in and post them, but it likely won't be soon. I'm just so excited I had to share.

Oh this is the one I was looking for. My DH showed me video of this show. The Kitchen Cabaret. He loved it. I would love to see pics of the swan boats. I am just now going through this thread, so maybe I will find them. He has lots of old photos but we have to find them and then figure out how to post them. Untill then I will enjoy these. Thank you to the OP. This is my favorite thread.
