Old Disney Commercial

This is driving me crazy. Several years ago, during Disney's Christmas (or Easter) parade they aired a new Disney parks commercial. It was THE BEST I'd ever seen back then. In it the actors playing Walt's parents were dressed in Victorian clothing, and they were peeping in on young Walt asleep in his bed. Next to him was an oil lamp glowing, and his parents peeking inside the doorframe said something like... "I wonder what he's dreaming about tonight."

It was the most magical Disney commercial to date, but that was the one and only time I've ever seen it. I can't even find it on YouTube. Does anyone else remember this commercial? I swear it aired that one time, then never again... hence why I can't find it anywhere. I imagine lots of people never saw it at all.

There were around 5 commercials that were very short lived. The one you remember is one of them. They were part of the "magic happens" campaign. They squashed it very shortly after it started. I think it was from 2001. Here are three commercials. The first one is the one you wanted to see.

Those are neat videos that pull at your heart strings, but I see why they stopped them... as promotional ads for WDW, they rate about a 1 out of 10 to me. None of them scream "Hey, let's go to Walt Disney World!" or make me want to start looking at plane fares on Expedia.

Thanks for finding those links JessicaR. I loved the young Walt video. I agree. It would do nothing to pull in new fans to a theme park, but it surely affects those who loved Walt and appreciate the magic he created.

For some reason I remembered it being a little shorter and showing WDW fireworks at the very end, but that is definitely the commercial. I don't know how I missed it b/c the other two you posted I have saved on my YouTube playlist.

My fave of the more 'recent' commercials are these:

I wasn't familiar with the commercial but after some searching found a message board that spoke about a shortened campaign and mentioned the other commercials. When I looked at them I figured there had to be more. Doing a search for Magic Happens on you-tube brought it up, Spanish captions and all.

There were one or two more but I didn't watch those.

The two you listed are wonderful. I love the one with the dogs but the second one is really magical. Great commercial!

Geoff, I agree with you, they sure do pull at the heart-strings for those that have Disney ties already.
