Any predictions on pricing for Olaf's Royal Picnic on the Disney Wish? Do we think it will be on par with the Royal Tea Party at $220 a pop?

I'm also wondering if this means there will be no free Frozen Meet and Greets. They still have the Princess Meet and Greet (or they did prior to all this craziness, not sure anymore); but with there being a Frozen dinner show, I am thinking they will consider that sort of the "free" Frozen option.

Thoughts?

They no longer have ticketed meet and greets for princesses or frozen, although they did have Marvel and Star Wars ticket meet and greets on the MDAS and SWAS cruises, so who knows any more.

I'd bet the cost to be significantly more than the current tea party. My bets are on $295 per kid. Frozen is one of those things where people just start screaming at disney "take my money!!!" Particularly as with the clever framing of it being "Olaf's" party they are clearly angling for more young boys--my son LOVES the princess tea, but I recognize he is in a teensy minority. Everyone loves Olaf!

I think both those guesses sound about right. The presents described to be given out at Olaf’s picnic sound on par with the Royal tea ones. I do wonder if they may charge more though because of more demand as it may appeal to more boys than the Royal tea. It’s too rich for my taste either way. My kids can enjoy all the included features

We haven't cruised yet since covid, but the Magic and Wonder both have dinner shows and those characters still do free meets. I would hope they would do it the same with Olaf. But you know DCL will charge money for anything they think people will pay for. We've done 5 cruises since Frozen came out and the only time we've seen Olaf was during the show. Not sure if he ever showed up at the ticket meets, we did 4 and never had him at ours. He's at CC sometimes, but we've never seen him(haven't gone out of our way to see him either though).

First, I hadn't noticed the Olaf's Picnic replacing the Princess Tea - I'm kind of glad to see something with broader appeal (my son loves Olaf).

Second, didn't the free ticketed Princess meet and greets happen even on cruises that had the Royal Tea? They haven't been happening post-pandemic but I know we went to them on our pre-pandemic cruises and I'm assuming those had the Tea as well (though we never went so I can't say for sure). I guess, are you more concerned that they'll "hoard" the Frozen characters and keep them exclusive to the paid event, or that they won't do Frozen meet and greets because they'll be considered redundant with the dinner show? I could maybe see the latter; the former seems kind of silly to me, even for DCL. I've never gotten the sense they were trying to force you to pay for character interactions in and of themselves; I always assumed the Tea had a lot more going on than just seeing the characters.

Not sure if it will replace the Princess tea or if it will be in addition to.

I guess in my mind, I am thinking back to the Frozen Meet and Greet down in Animator's Palate and how they would sort of dress up the restaurant. In my mind, it seems like they gave it some more bells and whistles and found a way to monetize it.

It seems unlikely to me that they would have the dinner show AND the paid experience AND the meet and greet.

As to your question, I personally think it could be a little bit of both. Moreso the redundancy of it. But I don't want to rule out the idea that they want to make a very popular offering even more exclusive.

I think my thought though was Frozen wasn't your standard meet-and-greet. It was in a very specific location. And they have the backdrop and the lighting and the music and all of that. It's not like Anna and Elsa were out by the Walt Disney Theatre. Or even in the atrium. It was a very contained event. In my mind, it seems like this Picnic party is sort of replacing it...with some more offerings, more goodies, and obviously making it a money-making opportunity.

So, will they keep the meet-and-greet the same AND have the Royal Picnic? Eh, maybe. I find it unlikely they will have two very similar events as an option.

Will they "downgrade" the Anna/Elsa meet-and-greet to be a normal character experience out in the atrium or elsewhere on the ship? Perhaps. But, I find that unlikely as well.

To me, the likeliest outcome is that the only Frozen meet-and-greet will be the paid experience.

I mean the wish is going to have an entire restaurant devoted to Arendelle, it makes sense to get more use out of it. Between that, the Sommerhaus in the kid's club and this picnic... they're still going all in on Frozen.
