We are leaving in three weeks for our first stay at OKW. Please post with any advice/tips on this resort. We will be in a GV, DW, me and 4 18yo boys. We plan on some park days, lotsa chilling, maybe US or Seaworld, waterparks etc.
What is the rental situation here? We usually like to do the family plan for bike and boat rentals, do they offer that at OKW? How is the marina? We will have our own car. Any info on the units, like floorplans etc. Basically anything anyone wants to share. Thanks much in advance.

4 - 18 year olds? *fainting dead away*

There is not a boat/recreation plan at OKW unless that has changed recently. The GV units are beautiful, you'll have a great time.

I don't believe they have the family plan for boat rental at OKW, they just have too few boats to do that. The water sprites do not go as fast as others either. You should enjoy the GV with the master bedroom down stairs and the other two bedrooms up stairs. It is 2375 square feet which is very large for such accomodations. With the car there is easy access to Rt 4 and a trip to the places you mentioned. There are 4 pools at the resorts where you should be able to chill out. Olivias is a basic family restaurant.

Hi you will have a great time. They boys will have a blast on the new water slide at the main pool. It looks great. Also there are lots sports activities to do from shuffle board to basketball. We also rent a boat at least twice. Its very relaxing. You can take the boat through the canals and to the marketplace. I havent stayed in a GV yet but I have seen pictures they look great. If you are planning on stocking up on food the general store has a limited selection. I would drive to either ""Goodings" supermarket ( a little pricey but close) or to a Publix to buy food. If you need anything else dont hesitate to ask. By the way where is Newton?

Don't go to Goodings for groceries, their prices are outrageous. There's a Winn-Dixie about a mile down the road that is reasonable, especially if you get their shopper card. Out of OKW, turn right, pass SSR, turn right at the end of the road, turn left onto Hotel Resorts Blvd, turn left across from Crossroads (535), its' about a mile down the road on the right, just past ABC Liquor.

We will probably bring most groceries with us, and then go to Publix for perishables when we gwt there.

KCSKCS - Newton is in Sussex County, the most north and west little corner of the state.

We stayed at OKW and BCV and did the boat and bike plan at WL. The sprites go faster and you have much more flexibility and space to use them. You also have the pontoon and canopy boats as well as sailboats(if you know how to sail). It is a bit of a nuisance to have to commute by car or bus to get there but we found it totally worth it. I think you could also do it at Poly or CR.

FOUR 18 YEAR OLD BOYS???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint:

OKW is a great resort. I would "second" going to Winn-Dixie or Publix for groceries...Goodings is to darn expensive, especially if you are feeding four 18 year old boys!!!!!!!

They have a marina, it has sprites, pontoon boats etc. We have rented a pontoon boat...lots of fun...you can go all the way to DTD on it, and pass osme interesting scenery along the way. There is a golf course that runs through the resort, so if anyone is a golfer, that could be fun. There is shuffleboard, basketball, volleyball at the main area, near the main pool. The main pool is roomy, they just built a new slide. There is a walking path to DTD...go to the Southpoint area, take a left down the road toward buioldings 55, 56, 57 etc. All the way at the end of the road is a path that will walk you from DTD, through the golf course, past SSR to DTD. There is also a boat that takes you from the marina to DTD. it runs till about 8 or 9 PM, so if you are going to or coming home later than that, you'd need to grab a bus. Often, we will take the boat to DTD around 7PM, and then bus home when we are done.

The GV is SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just staye din one in January and LOVED every single inch of it. HUge kitchen, dining area with a table for 8 I think, an huge living room area with a door out ot the deck, and there's another table in the livingroom. Master bedroom is gorgeous, big laundry room, a full bath downstairs, a full bath in the MBR, and a full bath in each of the bedrooms upstairs. Amazing. I told my DH that it was pretty sad when the vacation condo was nicer than the house we live in the other 350 days a year!!!!! ;)

You won't be disappointed. Enjoy your time with the fellas!
