So I believe I am staying at OKW in a studio room in early October...

What does one do that is NOT close to the HH? I am renting points so I will ask for that to be requested but not all requests are granted!! SO I'm torn. :confused3

I know there are 3 or 4 pools... the main pool has all the good stuff, again if we're not close what do we do? Is it a far walk? Are there paths? Do the busses go from one stop to anther... we're not big pool people but this trip we plan on "relaxing" so I am a bit concerned.

AKV was my first choice for this trip but we're going for OKW so we don't have to change rooms. I haven't done much research on this hotel so I am a big disheveled and I need some convincing! :scared1:

hey I like away from HH myself

my favorite is the South Pointe (the bus stops are named after the streets)

lots of others love Old Turtle Pond

here is a map
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/okwmap.htm

all the buses except for DD - go to the HH before they leave. you get back by walking to peninsular road and taking that bus to your stop. or walking nothing is more than 10 minutes to the HH area.

Each of the neighborhoods has its own quiet pool, barbeque area and kiddie playground...none is more than a 10-minute stroll to Hospitality House...Turtle Pond has a snack/drink stand at the quiet pool, although its hours are a bit mysterious...it's frequently not open. Each of the pool areas also has a laundry facility (free)...

But the activities (Community Hall, restaurants, pool slide, the sauna in the lighthouse, the shop, bike/boat rentals, etc.) are all at Hospitality House area...

We absolutely LOVE OKW...but it's very "neighborhood-y"...if you're not in a villa "near Hospitality House" (which is a booking category, not a request), you'll be a bit of a stroll away...or, you can wait for the bus...there's a resort-loop bus as well as the park buses and a bus to Downtown Disney...there's a stop in each neighborhood which is no more than a couple of villas away from any given villa...

The neighborhoods are: Peninsular Road (that's a "Near Hospitality House" category), Turtle Pond, Miller's Road, South Point, and Hospitality House (villas directly across the road from check-in)...At the edge of South Point is a walking path that will take you to Saratoga Springs and to Downtown Disney (close to, but less than, one mile, and a very pretty walk along the canal)...

Hope you love your time there as much as we do when we stay there!
