We are new members looking ahead to Dec 09. It will be me, DH, DS4, DS1, MIL & FIL. We like to stay up after the kids go to bed to play euchre, etc. My question is should we book: 2-bedroom, 2-bedroom+studio, or GV? I would like the boys to have their own room so we don't have to tiptoe around when they are sleeping but not sure if its worth the extra points. Thoughts?

At this point in time anything you can get. That is a very popular time of year with lower point requirements and all the Christmas decorations and activities around that time of year.

I would book a Grand Villa, if you have the points. We stayed in one a couple years ago and it was wonderful!

If you don't want to use that many points, then I would go with a two bedroom and a studio.

If you aren't staying any weekend nights, a Grand Villa is less points than people realize. We were there the first week in December from Sunday to Friday and it was only 180 points!

If you're going to go with the GV, book it exactly at the 11 month mark and I would also do day-by-day.

Good luck!

We are looking to stay Sun-Thurs and the points aren't really too big of a concern as we will have 08 points banked and could always borrow a few from 2010 if needed. I was thinking from more of a layout/logistical standpoint. My only concern is with a 2-bed + studio is that we could end up in different buildings.

Then I would definitely go with the Grand Villa.

You won't be sorry!

I'd probably book the GV so everyone gets their own room, but I'd probably give the folks the master, since both of the other bedrooms will be upstairs, and you will want to be closer to the kids. Actually, I think a 2 bedroom would work out just fine. The 1 year old could be in the pack N Play and the 4 year old could have the second bed in the bedroom while you have the other bed in the bedroom. Give the folks the master, and everyone has a real bed and everyone still has the convenience of the dining room/kitchen/living room without disturbing the youngsters.

I agree with Diane's suggestion for the two bedroom as you would all be on one floor if you need to check on the kids while playing cards, etc. I always worry a little about young kids and the railing on the 2nd floor grand villa that overlooks the living room. (My grandkids liked to climb).
