OKW waitlist for end of July?

My generous uncle has made a reservation of a 1BR @ OKW for the end of July/first of August and was able to secure the Sun, Mon and Tuesday nights, but had to waitlist the Wednesday and Thursday nights.

What are the chances the waitlist will come through?

Should I go ahead a book a hotel room with a generous cancellation policy for those 2 nights?

You may want to have your uncle look again. I assumed your dates and looked there is available at OKW, SSR & VWL. If you are looking 7-31 + have him look again. Look aften as sometimes things come up during the day and then quickly disappear.

I just sent him a text saying that there is availability.

I am curious though, I obviously don't understand how the wait list works. If there wasn't availability last night when he made the reservation, and then some opened up today, wouldn't those on a wait list get the available units before the show up in the general inventory?

Wait list matches only a few times per day. Some times the needed room may come up and get snatched up by someone before your wait list can get matched. Good luck.
