Has anyone been able to book OKW yet? I've seen several posts where SSR was available, but nothing for OKW. I wish I knew if it was just the timing, or if there truly is no availability. Perhaps a lot of people from the UK have already booked it?

I actually just called CRO and was able to change to a studio at OKW with free DDP & the 30% discount for next August. Price for 8 nights, 1 day base tickets, and DDP for four (2 adults, 2 teens) was $2182.68 -- the same thing with no discounts was $4258.84.

It's still about $1000 more than the original room I had booked at POP, but my family really wants to stay somewhere different and the deal at OKW made it cheaper than booking any of the non-DVC deluxe resorts.

That's what I wanted to do & rent out my points to pay for it but I can't convince DH to let me fly down to do it:sad2:

I'm so glad that you posted this! We tried to book OKW or SSR while we were down late Aug/early Sept. but they told us it was not available. I booked BC instead and recently booked SSR studio for 7 nights 8 day base tickets and the total was $2377.64!! I changed to a 1 bedroom the next day and the total was $2901.24 (after the $200 deposit). Even the one bedroom was cheaper than the BC!! I know that the studio at OKW is larger than the studio at SSR and it has two queen beds. I may try to change my ressie. Either way, it is a fabulous deal. :yay:

There's a good chance they will offer free DDP again in the spring just like last year...maybe you can still do it then without the expense of a plane ticket. :goodvibes

I thought of that too but I'm not sure they'll offer the 30% discount along with it. It's a great deal & better discount then members get.;)

I knew that there had been free dining during the months of Sept/Oct the last couple of years but wasn't aware of the same sort of deal in the spring. What month has this been offered in the past?

Spring is just when the offer to book for Aug/Sept comes out. You can book in the Spring for Aug/Sept (and sometimes into early Oct.). They don't offer free dining in the Spring. It is the busiest time of year next to Christmas. (Although they are offering it this Nov/Dec for Disney Visa card holders. They almost tempted me to book another quick trip this fall.....almost but not quite.

I hope it works out for you stepdisney! :thumbsup2

Thanks calypso! Right now I'm holding on to the one bedroom at SSR but I plan on showing DH the pictures of OKW. I'm sure he will LOVE the savings, I'm just not sure if he'll like the theming as much. Come to think of it, he won't notice the theming if the savings are good enough :lmao:.

I was told no 30% off with free dining. How did you get both?

Hey! Just wanted to add a side note....when I booked my BB at WDW, the CM knew nothing about the 30% off but was smart enough to tell me "Let's just put it all in the computer and see if it gives us a discount" and so we did....and the computer did too!! We got 30% off the SSR and FD!!

So, if they don't know about it, just ask them to go ahead and give you a quote w/ the BB FD code on it and I am sure it will show a lower rate even if it doesn't state that it is 30% off! Good luck! :goodvibes

I booked it awhile ago. I got a one bedroom, 2 A, one infant, one day base ticket, free dining for 4 nights for $1300

I wonder how fast SSR/OKW are booking right now...free DDP and a 30% discount is pretty great (also residents of the UK are being offered 40% off but have more stringent ticket requirements). I would like to try SSR because it has a food court, but really prefer the 2 queen beds that come with the OKW studios.

I booked the Free Dining BB while we were at WDW in September @ SSR. Today I was able to switch it to OKW in a 1BR 9/9/09-9/16/09.
