OKW vs BLT

Rating the 2BR units on each I see the OKW is appx 250 sq ft larger. Does anyone know where that difference is ? Spread out thru the unit or more from the living room area? For both resorts how are the following .....
bus service like to DTD ?
How about to Typhoon Lagoon ?
And how do you get from either resort to the Osprey Ridge 9 hole course?

I know BLT is more points , but convenience of Monorail to EC & MK or even Walking to MK may just be worth the points and eliminate a car that I probably would rent at OKW. Love to hear your experiences.

The extra space, if I'm remembering correctly, is in the bedrooms. The living room of a 1BR/2BR at BLT is actually bigger than most (know balcony, so all space is living), but the bedrooms are smaller.

At OKW you can boat to DTD. Not the fastest transportation, but another option. At BLT, you can also walk the 5 minutes to the MK bus depot and get a bus anywhere (almost). So, that's pretty convenient.

We're owners at BLT (and BWV), BLT is my favorite (AKV my wife's). We've stayed at OKW numerous times, love it, but BLT feels right in the action which I love. I think bussing is more convenient at BLT, especially with the MK bus depot so close.

We own at OKW and stayed in a 2 bedroom in June...the first night we stayed at BLT theme park view in a 2 bedroom....balcony, twice the size at OKW, living room, dining room substantially bigger...bedrooms, same size...HOWEVER, BLT had three full baths, great if u have sleeping kids in your bedroom, laundry room at BLT was a closet and stackable washer/dryer...not great for us short people, a whole laundry room at OKW.

Boat to DTD at OKW is wonderful and a great break from bus...Bus at OWK was no problem...but did like to walk from BLT to MK...

We never rent a car....don't find the bus a problem, even with two kiddies and strollers...only stood once on our way home from MK...rest of the week we always had a seat and we got on at the last stop at OWK...never took the bus at BLT, as short stay, but they do share with another deluxe resort.

Closets at OKW are also much larger than the closets at BLT. The living room is twice the size at OKW - you get a real round dining room table vs a bench with a small rectangular table. You have a queen sized sleeper sofa, plus a love seat, plus the twin sized sleeper chair at OKW. BLT has a queen sized sleeper sofa and twin sized sleeper chair.

The panty at BLT in the kitchen is good for hard sided stuff like cereal boxes, canned goods, but not very good for bagged items like chips. OKW has the nice cabinet area by the dining room table with large cabinet space where you can even store a full sized cooler if you have one.

The extra bathroom at BLT is handy though.

OKW units are far larger, by as much as 25-30% than any others.
Bus stops at OKW are far closer than the distance from BLT to the MK bus stop. There are 4 bus stops at OKW and no bus stop is more than 300-350 feet from a unit.

Service to DTD from OKW runs about every 20-25 minutes depending upon the time of year. That bus is also considered the "internal" bus in the resort as it stops at the Hospitality house on the way into the resort from DTD and then on the way out.

At the end of the day in a park, the last thing that we want to do is be in the middle of anything, but peace and quiet. There's no more beautiful resort than OKW at night.

Our youngest daughter (30 yrs young) loves OKW...your at Disney, but when u get home. It's NOT Disney and its a relax type feeling...BLT is wonderful, but very hectic.

We own at both BLT and OKW and, while staying at BLT, try to never go to DTD. The bus stops at the Poly and GF and it takes forever! The 2 BR will feel larger than it is at BLT due to the large windows. We love BLT for the convenience.

Now the 2BR at OKW is fantastic. Love having two couches plus a sleeper chair. Love the large dining table and huge balcony. Love taking the boat to DTD.

gave up OKW for BLT - but that was more for the monorail and being able to walk to the MK.
already could walk to epcot and studios with bwv.

so being able to walk to 3 of the 4 parks was a big selling point for me.

the bedrooms at OKW are bigger - so is the living area - but think you will notice it more in the bedrooms. the bathrooms are also bigger at OKW than BLT.

think the kitchen was about the same size. the patios at OKW are also bigger.

remember back to my first stay at OKW - that bathroom was a surprise for me - been staying at the deluxe resorts at WDW before this - so it was extra nice.

that say owned OKW from 1993 to 2008 so definitely loved it.
