OKW view??

Are there any bad views at OKW such as parking lot, etc? Or are all the rooms looking at something nice? We will be staying in a Deluxe Studio. Is there a particular "view" I should request? Which one is your favorite?

I've stayed at OKW many times, but only twice in a studio. We had a water view (partial) both times. I'm not 100% familiar with all studio views, as we usually stay in a 1 or 2 bedroom, but I have read reports that, because studios are on the ends of the buildings, they can have a road view depending on the bldg. I believe bldgs 52 and 53 might be examples of that if you look at the OKW map. I'd bet #30 and #31 would have some road views as well as far as the studios go.
Both times we stayed in a studio, we requested "water view". One time I got #43 (GREAT !) and another time it was 46 (also very good).
Also want to mention that ground floor studios tend to have a lot of vegetation/shrubbery growth around the balcony and this can hinder the view. If stairs are not a problem, see if you can request a 2nd or 3rd floor. But definitely mention "water view" as your request---I think that would help.
I'm sure some more people with more experience with studio views will post. Diane (dianeschlicht) is also an OKW expert---she'd most likely know.

I think the worst views for studios are probably bldgs 28 and 29, first floor. Other than that, the views are pretty standard...you have a water view, woods or golf, and they are all pretty nice. Woods would be the most private.

There really aren't any specific view catgegories at OKW. You can request a water view if that's something you like, but they are all pretty much nice views.

Thanks for the info you guys! I called to make sure it said non-smoking room and requested a "water view" also. I will go into more detailed requesting when we get there. We are checking in (or pre-checking in) early so maybe we can get a good one!

The buildings where people in studios have reported having bad view are #40 and #38. In #38, it was after the hurricanes had knocked down the trees, so the view was of the highway. In building #40, they said that all they could see was the parking lot.

Thanks for that info. I've printed out the map and I'm marking it as I go. It's getting narrowed down pretty quickly. Can't wait to get there!!

At OKW i don't worry about the view, I'm there to relax. The best DVC views are boardwalk views at BWV IMHO.

While I tend to not sweat my views at OKW too much either (I've always gotten great ones), having my balcony face the road and bus traffic wouldn't make it very relaxing for me. Luckily there are not many views like this at OKW.
The BWV (Boardwalk views) are very cool....but also pretty difficult to get from what I've read here (pretty much 11 month window or else you hope to get lucky). And I'm not sure I'd like a BW view ground or 2nd floor (too close to all the foot traffic for me). I'd feel like I had no privacy.
