OKW view question

DH and DS17, the mad golfers want to plan a getaway trip to golf for the weekend. It is possible to request golf course view at OKW and how likely is it that the request would be granted? How many rooms are really on the golf course? I assume this is Lake Buena Vista? Last time they played there, we stayed at SSR and walked to the clubhouse. Can you do that from OKW?

OKW is at least 70% fairway views. I would say that your chances of getting your request is excellent.

Watch out for some of the fairway views. I stayed in 28 once and it really had no view, it was covered in trees.

Anyone have a good strategy for getting a good golf course view? Are there some buildings that are better than others? I would really like a view of the putting green. Any building recommendations?

I wish I knew a good strategy to get a great golf course view. We always request a golf course view. But what was ironic was that on one trip, the CM told us that there were no golf course views available, so we had a garden view. Well, it was a better view of the golf course than some of the supposed golf course views we've had.

We have stayed in buildings 26,37,48 before and each time have had great views of the greens. We have stayed in other buildings and have seen them on the fairway....never been in a building where they tee off. I would say just ask when you book, then call the week before you go directly to the resort, and then again when you check in.

Buildings 16, 17 and 18 have great views of the 6th green. The same green can be seen from Buildings 62, 23 and 24 from across the pond. Buildings 63 and 64 have good views of the island green (#7) and Building 15 also has some viewof that green but mostly the tee. Buildings 11, 12 and 13 have a view of the 8th (those are in the HH category). Buildiings 25/26 can see the 5th green and bldg 47 has a look at #4. Bldgs 52, 53 and 54 can see the 3rd green.

You can walk to the LBV Clubhhouse, but itis quite a hike - over 1/2 mile from Building 55. I'd drive or take a cab - in the past transportation has evenbeen provided by Disney, but I'm not sure that is still available. Just ask at the bell stand and they will advise.

The tall trees are now key. We almost always have stayed in bldg 42 (since1993) and as the years have gone by so has the view of the course. Bldg 42 overlooks a tee box. Last year we were across the road from the course and came home to find a golf ball outside our front door!!!
