3 Disney Friends on a quick trip.

Arrival Day

I arrived Wednesday 10/20 around 9 pm at OKW, after my flight was delayed coming from Philadelphia due to weather delays in Atlanta (only a couple of hours later than I anticipated. Check in was a breeze and I was in a one bedroom second floor in building 12. Everything in the unit was in great shape. The new sofa beds are really comfortable as I slept on it for 3 nights except for the first in the king (really hard mattress made my back very sore in the morning).

Day 1

Went for a run in the morning and got a really good look at the main pool (sorry no pics) but there are virtually no structural changes to the pool. They are only adding the slide, the pool is not even empty they have lowered the water level and the pool is still about 2/3 full (so for those of you that were hoping for zero entry it does not appear that is going to happen as they have only taken out enough of the pool coping to accommodate the slides entry into the pool). It looks as if they have completed the foundation for the slide and started to work on the frame.

Waited for my friends to show up and went to Saratoga Spring to check it out and visit the pool there. The property is beautiful and the main pool is fun but I have to agree with what I have read on the boards that the pool seems awfully small for the amount of units that are going up. The main pool at OKW seem to be larger to me(even if it is not).

Went back to the room and had dinner at Bongo’s and headed to PI for the fireworks. Had a nice evening and headed back to get some rest.

Day 2

Had a quick breakfast in the room and headed to the Old Turtle Pond pool, had some more fun, sun and snacks.

Left for the MK and picked up our tickets for MNSSHP. We had a quick bite to eat at Peco Bill (we love the burgers there). The park was not too bad but the waits for the attractions were still a little long. About 6 we headed to Tomorrowland and went on some rides and once they reopened the park we hit all the attractions that we wanted, did some trick or treating, watched the parade and fireworks. By 10 the wait times for some attractions were quite long others were almost walk-on. We were tired by 11:30 and decided to head back to the resort. Had a really great time !!

Day 3

Quick bite in and headed to the Character Warehouse for some Disney bargains. Headed back to the resort and went to the quite pool at Millers Road (very relaxing). Then off to the Gurguling Suitcase for a few Turtle Crawls (yeah we crawled out with the best of them). Back to the room for a quick dinner (in home) and time to pack.

Going Home

Up at 6AM and out the door by 7:30 and to the airport and back home by 2:30pm .

Had a great time and as always, never enough..

Any questions?

It sounds like fun, thanks for sharing! We enjoyed the quiet pool on Miller's road very much, too.

In Florida it's dangerous to empty a pool. If the water table rises, as it might due to a hurricane, the pool will float and pop out of the ground. At least that's what we were told in S Fla years ago.

Did it look like they were changing any of the buildings in the pool area? Some of the drawings gave the impression they were going to. (I would love it if they improved the health club.)

No.. OneMoreTry, the only area being worked on is the pool. All other buildings have no changes. I worked out while I was there.

Also.. tried to make a massage appt at Slappy Joes and currently they are not offering massages and referred me to SSR at the spa if I would like one. Wasn't real happy about losing that perk, maybe it is only temporary.

Pool popping...

I thought about that when I read it. In upstate N.Y. if you empty an inground pool during the winter you have the risk of the frost popping it out. I thought gee they wouldn't have frost, didn't think of the water table. Makes a lot of sense.

Nice report.
