we always stay at the BCV. 25th anniversary trip staying at OKW in july. any tips on OKW room locations - pool with jacuzzi?, breakfast any tips would be appreciated. when you are use to staying at home resort and then change it up - just wondering what to expect. thank you.

One thing nice about OKW is that the jacuzzi in the master bathroom IS pool sized. Bigger than the one you are used to at BCV.

OKW is marvelous. Extra large rooms. Really large porch where you can sit out and eat breakfast or any other meal. Turtle Pond has a larger pool at that area, but any area is really nice at OKW. We had a wonderful stay last year along the Trumbo Canal.

I love OKW for the 1 bdrm and have a hard time choosing any another resort because of its size and the at-home feeling you get. The laundry room is actually its own room (full size washer/dryer side by side). The laundry room at one location (closer to the main check-in) had one entrance off the main hallway and at another location (bldg further away) it had an entrance off the main hallway and another that connected to the second bathroom (like a walk-through) and I liked that much better. It seems like someone at Disney thought of the idea of the "walk-through" after they completed some of the buildings. The entrance to the second bathroom allows you a way in and out without having to disturb someone in the main bathroom and bedroom. The kitchen area is large with a table and 4 chairs. There is so much room in the dining area that there is even a "bar area" for drinks and food with extra storage underneath. The deck is large with an outdoor table with four chairs. The livingroom area has a sofa, loveseat and a chair. Plenty of room which you do not have at the newer resorts. The bedroom and kitchen have a door to the patio for two way access. All in all, it feels like you have room to move around with easy accessability everywhere. The only drawback which doesn't bother me, but might to some, is that the TV's are not flat screen unless they are changing that. I wonder if they are ??? The livingroom TV is placed under the kitchen island and is a neat setting, I think. You will LOVE it, I promise. :thumbsup2

I prefer the Turtle Pond area, buildings 37 or 43. I asked about the car because that area is a longer distance to the main area, it's easier if you have a car. You can catch a bus to the main area if you don't want to walk. You can reserve the HH area if it's available (buildings 11-14, 23-26).

For a couples only trip that I assume will be on the romantic side...stay away from the noise of the Turtle Pond pool area and opt for the secluded romantic views of buildings 45 and 46. We love how remote this area can feel even though it is also easy access to the main hospitality area and easy walking to one of the quiet pools and the Southpoint bus stop. Here are some pictures of the views from villas in that area:

Wow, those are nice pics. I'll be staying in a one bedroom in August. Looking forward to arriving already. Never stayed at OKW before.
