We just got back from our first stay at OKW... I thought I wouldn't like it but ended up LOVING it...when we walked in and saw the size of the one bedroom, our jaws hit the floor! We loved the laid back atmosphere and the room sizes! We are already planning our next trip home!!

I know this sounds weird but we never used the bus transportation as we spent our time at the resort itself. When we go back in a few months, we will be with 5 other family members and will definitely be using the bus systems to MK and EP. We have a HH room booked. So from here, where do we get the bus? Is it right in front of the lobby? Will we be first or last for pickup and dropoff? And lastly, does anyone have any thoughts on us taking a taxi in the mornings to the parks (to get there sooner and with less stress than taking a bus) and then taking the busses back?

If I remember right I think it the lobby is the first stop, but it has been a while since I have stayed there though. You can call the resort and they can tell you. In addition, i would just take a bus to the resort and make sure you are on the first bus in the morning. Once they start running they usually come every 15 min depending on the time of the season. During peak season (summer and some holidays) you could see longer waits.

We just got back a couple of weeks ago and stayed 6 nights at OKW, we weren't HH but we were building 45 on Pennisular Rd. If you are buildings 23-26 that is a PERFECT location for HH as then you can pick up the bus at HH and be the last stop going out, and drop off at the Pennisular Bus stop which is the first bus stop coming back. We stayed HH a few years ago in 23 and it was a great location, only a few minutes walk to either bus stop. EPCOT is a very very quick bus trip, and MK isn't bad either OKW is nice that it is so centrally located.

We were there during Marathon Weekend time frame, which is a somewhat busy time, and didn't find any massive waits, and only once at OKW had a standing room only (coming back from MK at night).

We also stayed at BWV on the same trip, and by comparision bus service was horrible there (had to stop at four other resorts), OKW is not bad. I can't speak on getting to park at opening since we have been going for so many years I can't remember the last time we got to a park at opening!

The Hospitality House is the last stop. We we travel with the little ones, we stay close to the HH and get off at the first stop Pennisular Rd and walk back to the rooms. Much shorter time than waiting through all the stops along the resort before ending back up at the HH.

I also recommend Peninsula Road. The disadvantage with the lobby bus stop is that it's the last stop before leaving the resort, and if the bus is already full from other stops the bus will go directly to the park and not even stop at the lobby or it will stop at the lobby and only let people off, but not let anyone on. Both scenarios have happened to us. I remember on this last trip, the bus driver told everyone, just before he got to the lobby that he'd turned off the sign on the bus saying where we were going, and that no one was to say anything. He only let the few people going to the lobby off, then since the bus was still super-full, he immediately shut the doors and we went on our way.

HH is the last stop returning from the parks. Unless you just cannot take one more step, if you get off at Peninsular Road and walk back, you will beat the bus. Remember sometimes when going to the parks, that if you are the last stop it's possible the bus will be too full to allow you to board at busy times, so Peninsular Road works there, too.

If you take a cab to MK, have them drop you off at Bay Lake (parking lot would be closest instead of lobby). Otherwise you're going to have to take the monorail or ferry.
