OKW tactics: Which room and how to get it

Hi there

Off to OKW in 2 weeks - yay!

We are staying in a 2 bed villa after doing the same last year and loving it. Then we happened upon one at the back of the complex by the quiet pool and we were very happy.

Then it was pot luck...but should I, like all good Dis'ers be 'planning'! What are the best rooms - don't need to be close to reception, we have a car - and , most importantly, how to get it. Is there anything to be done in advance or is it just smiling sweetly on the day?

Tips please

pps - any tips to get cheap La Nouba tickets?

We're off next week to okw.

Have phoned disney uk who we booked with and requested turtle pond area upper floor.

Reasons - from what i've read turtle pond area is fully renovated. South pointe is currently being done. Hospitality house is a DVC booking category and alot of people want to be near HH so less chance of getting I think.

I've asked for 41.

From memory 30's and 40's are renovated.

If you look on the dvc board on here there are threads saying which rooms are renovated.

Thanks, per the DVC boards

called the OKW front desk today and asked what buildings were finished with renovations and after getting handed off to a few CMs, I was told that all of Old Turtle Pond was done except for 34 and 35 (that would be buildings 30-44 if I am correct) as well as buildings 45-50.

They also told me that 35 and 51 would be next up....


Have called Disney so fingers crossed!

Just bear in mind that a room request is exactly that- a request. We had our request added to our booking by both Disney UK and Disney US and we ended up somewhere completely different!

yes - we got lucky last time at all star movies - wanted ground floor and toy story and got it.

Not overly bothered where we end up - just glad to be there!

Last year I asked for top floor near HH - got Building 19 which was right by a bus stop but also very near an external busy road - bit noisy to be honest.

For next year I asked for Turtle Pond Road, top floor and gave some building numbers I liked the look of. I feel there is more chance of getting this than HH.

I called Disney UK to have it added to our booking - she said the more information the better.
