OKW studios and refurbishment

I was just wondering if there's anything to prevent DVC from changing the sleeping format in the OKW studios to one queen and a sleeper sofa, so that all the DVC resorts are the same. If they did, it would be a shame because I know some people prefer OKW specifically because of the two beds in the studio. However, could they change it?

No, there is nothing contractual to prevent DVC from swapping out beds.

No, I don't think there's anything that would legally prevent it.

The owners wouldn't have to sign off on it. This is not a voting condo association.

While it may not be a voting condo association, there are some state laws preventing substantial changes to what people purchased. Now, whether the state would consider a sleeper sofa a substantial change over a real bed is anyones guess, but it may not be a road DVC wants to travel to find out publicity-wise just to change configurations in a 22 year old resort. Especially when you consider they can wait a few years until the contracts expire and can then do as they please without state oversight.

Well, they did swap out some sofa sleepers for beds recently.

Now open: Debate on if the other direction is less acceptable.
