For our trip in November, I was thinking of staying at an OKW studio.

Is the decor still the same as what's pictured on Allears website. It's very PINK looking. The one & two bedrooms have a different color scheme, so I'm wondering if they had refurbishments.

I just wanted to double check that the studio rooms are pink. I don't think DS will like the pink room. :teeth:

Thanks!

The decor at OKW is uniform no matter what size unit. No, its not pink. OKW does use a lot of pastel's in keeping with its theme.

they are generally a green (my favorite color) and a peach - yes it looks pink in some of the pictures - but when you see it for real - it more med peach color.

I thought the pics looked like that too, but when I was there I really enjoyed the color scheme, wasn't "pink" to me.

Thanks everyone!! I'm glad it's more pastel w/ greens.

spiceycat - Your photo looks great. I love the decor. I just wasn't sure if it would be too feminine for DS.

Thanks again!

well it depends on if your husband knows the difference between pink and peach - not to be a wiseacre. My DH said "it's very pink" when we walked in.

You might get that man LOVING pastels! My whole family likes the decor at OKW; while hubby probably would not go for those colors at home, it is very fun on vacation. It feels very "Florida-y" to us! We love OKW, and the sherbet pastels are part of the whole vibe there. The prints on the walls are of shells and beaches and the trim is all white... Very nice!

I don't believe DVC changes their color schemes since members bought based on what was shown in the model.

I think we're going to go ahead and try it out. Especially since the point value to size of room is great.

Also my kids love the theme of the new pool.

Thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease regarding the colors!! :thumbsup2

Here is a picture of our studio in Building 14, 1st floor.

The wall behind the beds was green and the wall to the side was a peach color.

Love the studio's at building 14.

For some odd reason the peachy colors do appear pink in the pictures, but in real life it is peach. DS is pretty much a macho man being in the military and all, and he has never complained that the 2nd br at OKW looked too girly. To tell the truth, I do not think he even notices the colors of the villas. As long as he has a bed to sleep in and food in the frig, he is a happy camper.

I choose accomodations for a lot of things, but color isn't one of them. The colors at OKW are reminiscent of the real Key West in the early 20th century, which is what the theme is there. If the peach bothers him, tell him to shut his eyes when he's sleeping, and it wont be an issue. :teeth:
