We are a family of four. My ds is a WILD sleeper and I'm considering getting an air mattress for the floor to prevent any arguments and hopefully a restful night for all:thumbsup2

My question is will a double/queen air mattress fit? Or only a single? Thinking of using it as they grow and the bigger one will grow with us.

Thanks!

I have been wondering this too.

We just stayed at OKW for a week with 4 of us in a studio.

A single air mattress would probably fit, especially if you planned to prop it against a wall during the day. A double or queen would be tight and might not even fit at all. The only way I could see that working would be to move the table & chairs and put it there but I don't know where you'd put those.

The studios at OKW are bigger and shaped differently than other studios (we've stayed in studios at AKV - Jambo house, Kidani and Beach Club), but with the 2 beds in there already, extra space is just not readily available.

Have you thought about a 1 bedroom? The one bedrooms at Kidani have the extra one person pull out bed/chair plus the 2 person pull out sofa.

I would have booked a 1br, but not enough points left! So, my quandary of what size mattress will fit.

I'm not opposed to moving the chairs and table. Maybe the chairs could go between the 2 beds while we are sleeping? We are only in the room to sleep and shower so not concerned about being crowded.

I would say get a single, a double will not leave much walking room when on the floor. I usually just stand the air mattress up in front of the lock off door during the day.

Go with the twin sized aero bed. Any larger and it will be a bad fit.

We did this once in an OKW studio room with a twin air mattress. Other than DD complaining about "having to sleep on the floor", there was plenty of room for us to move around.

For the record, DD had the option of sharing a bed with her little sister or the air mattress so she wasn't FORCED to "sleep on the floor". :rolleyes1

Thanks for the responses!

I'm a little bummed that most of you think a double won't fit even with a little creative positioning of the chairs and table:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Oh well ;) We will be at Disney and Having fun and that's what matters. At least that's what I'm going to tell myself and my ds.

Thanks again!

A double will absolutely NOT fit. There would be no real way to place the air matress anywhere other than at the foot of one bed or (worst case scenario) between the two beds. The best location would likely be over near the door to the balcony.

We did this very thing during our trip in 2007. We stayed at OKW for the first time in a studio. It was myself, DW, DS & DD. DS & DD were late teens at the time so sharing the 2nd queen bed was out of the question. We took a single aero mattress, moved the table and chairs over to the corner at night and there was plenty of room for the single mattress. Anything larger would not have worked though. We leaned the mattress against the wall when not in use and there was no problem moving around. This was before our DVC purchase and when we returned to the room after our first day at the park and after mousekeeping had been to the room, there was a fitted sheet on the aero mattress with linens, blanket and extra pillows without asking. Gotta love that Disney magic. Mousekeeping got a good tip too! :)
