We are now arriving with continental which will be a few hours later than expected. If we arrive at OKW after 10 can we get what will tide us over, drinks, breakfast supplies etc, in the store onsite, or would a walmart run really be better? If so approx how long would it take to get to one (I usually use the 192 one near medieval times?)

Thanks

If you can get to Wal-Mart it'd be a lot cheaper/better choice. The closest one from OKW i think is the one at 3250 Vineland Road - really easy to get to, just come out of WDW on the 536 (Epcot Center Dr), then turn right onto the 535 (Vineland Rd), and it's on your right.

Not so sure of the 535. Is that the one with the premium factory store on it? If so where is the walmart in relation to them?

Thanks for you help.

There's no doubt that Walmart etc will offer a bigger cheaper choice, but if you just want a few things then the OKW shop offers a reasonable variety. Here is the current grocery list to give you an idea of what is available - and their prices! Personally I wouldn't fancy doing a big shop at that time of the evening after a long flight. :)

Thank you v much.
The store looks to be quite well stocked and should definately tide us over to morning if we are late (think we will be). DH wants to knw if he can get a beer and what the damage would be!!

my only question would be how late is the store at OKW open and will you be there before it closes..

we've bought supplies at that store...the prices aren't as cheap as walmart, but perfectly fine for breakfast fixins...
we bought milk/juice/cereal/bagels/cream cheese there....

According to the info sheet from my last stay two years ago () the store is open until 11 pm - so that should give you enough time. You can also get the groceries delivered for your arrival for an extra $5. They certainly sell wine, and I'm pretty sure they sell beer, but I don't know how much it would be.

oh right, i forgot you can get groceries delivered....
i've never done that since we always get there with enough time to shop in that little store..
another thing they have in the store (or used to anyway), yummy entenmans donuts...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

We just got back from OKW on Wed. As a prev poster stated the shop at OKW is open till 11pm. Walmart is approx 10- 15 mins drive on Vineland a pretty straigh forward drive and is a lot cheaper, but I'm not sure I would want to be going there after all the travelling, but that's just me! ;) There's always Goodings at the Crossroads. There is more of a selection than the OKW shop and cost wise it's probably somewhere inbetween OKW and Walmart. Or another thought, you could just order your stuff from Garden Grocer. I think the delivery chare is $12.

Hope that you have an awesome vacation. OKW is one of my very favourite places! :thumbsup2

After you turn right from the 536 onto the 535 (after having passed the Nick Hotel on the right), the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores are soon on the left. Wal Mart is a bit further on and on the right.
To get to the Orlando Premium Outlets you would turn left at the 536/535 junction instead of right.

Thank you all for taking the time to post. I am pretty sure I know where that Wal-mart is now, thanks.

I am just more familiar on the 192 and it will have been a long day (chose 4 hour change over for peace of mind in New York).

I always panic about stopping before the hotel as I still have all the case, cash etc on me...like to get that stuff unloaded first. Though it would be a sensible option.

Hmmm, might have to see how tired I am.

Best wishes

If we are arriving late we nip into Walgreens for a few things to see us thru to a supermarket trip. They sell everything we need for a day or 2.

hi kathy, we have decided that all we "need" for the first day (we are travelling up from miami...) is food (on ddp so kids can chose what they want on first day- hey im not paying, lol!) sun block and toiletteries. we ll survive for the first day, go to parks in the am for r/d and then we ll get other more important things, after the kids have "calmed" after a day at AK (we always do AK 1st, family tradition;)).
we are thinking of just going to walmart for chocolate and water and water flavouring, after sun, shampoo and a few other "snacks" (ok, loads of reeces pieces for me and beer for dh, lol:rotfl2:)
tracy

Snacks and beer are very important :thumbsup2.

I just wish we were getting there a bit earlier as we really had planned to do a big shop. Flippin Globespan

No stopping us though ... ... pool party to get to!
