Looking it put in room request for October.
Old Key West:
Originally was thinking 62-63 to be close to hospitality house and main pool... but we are rope droppers and I am worried about Hospitality house being the last stop and busses being full.
Other option I was thinking is 56 because it is close to a quiet pool (sometimes I prefer this) and is the 3rd stop.
Does the morning bus usually fill up before reaching Hospitality house for rope drop?
Any other suggestions?
SSR:
Looking at building 8501-8836 to be close to Carriage house but also has small pool near by. Choice in bus stop at Grandstand which I hear is 1st or the springs to be last

Again for both goals are good for rope drop but also near a pool.

Thanks!

Either Building 81 or 85 at SSR (Grandstand Section). I typically request Grandstand Section and either close to pool or close to transportation in hopes that I get either building 81 or 85. Yes, Grandstand is the first stop for theme park buses at SSR.

SSR standard room choice and why was exactly what i was looking for!

Was just at both resorts in August. We used the online check-in and picked "grandstand" and "pool" for SSR. Got a great spot that was right on the walkway to the main building for food. Loved the location.

OKW we were in a non-preferred section in building 24. Easy walk to food and main pool. Also good bus stop. Downside was the room itself, which I have already complained about. In terrible shape. Loved the resort itself.

At SSR we like to near the Paddock Pool, better pool, has a slide and the Paddock grill. If you are closer to the Carousel side or even building 7101 in the carousel it is the second bus stop and even at rope drop an easy bus to catch.

At OKW I like to be near the Peninsular road bus stop, or even the old turtle pond road stop. We have rope dropped from both and have hit mine train at MK on the first or second train multiple times. Turtle pond is nice for the pool and food at the turtle shack.

Paddock Pool will be closed when we are there which is the main reason I have leaned Grandstand.

Thank you for OKW feed back! Rope drop is a big item for us so I want to make sure we are at a stop that that is possible.

I think Building 24 is in the preferred (Near Hospitality House) section.

OKW doesn’t have a preferred room category. They have for example Deluxe Studio or Near Hospitality House Deluxe Studio. Both rooms have the same point value. You may have gotten some Pixie Dust to get a HH room when you didn’t reserve one. Magic happens once in a while. We were once upgraded from a standard view to a lake view one time at VGF.

To the OP, we stayed in Building 63 twice (which I consider fortunate-great location!). Both times we used the Peninsula Road bus stop, mostly because I use a scooter and didn't want to chance being able to get a spot at the last stop. However, the second time we stayed there, we had "rookies" with us who'd never stayed at OKW, and they never questioned the bus stop. It's maybe a few steps further than the Hospitality stop.

23-26 are considered 'near HH' category. The OKW buildings on Peninsular Road which are non-HH are 27 - 29...27 is the closest to the bus stop, but none are that far a walk - and it is the first bus stop. So if Rope Dropping, that would be the stop you want. A side-perk of those buildings is if you aren't rope dropping and just miss a bus (you see it driving past as you are walking to the bus stop), just keep walking a few hundred feet more to the HH bus stop and you can catch that very same bus before it leaves as HH is the last stop. You essentially have two stops you can use - first and last. I have gotten building 27 on request several times and it's perfect for me - walk to the DS boat, store, and restaurant, first bus stop to the parks, and the backup easy walk to the last stop too.

For SSR - Grandstand would be the one you'd most likely want - first bus stop both for boarding and deboarding, as well as a short walk to the Carriage House for the restaurants/store and boat dock for Disney Springs.
