OKW room location?

After making many changes to our reservation for June, my father has decided to join us on vacation. We will now be staying at OKW. Can you give me any advice on views/room locations/etc? It will be my husband and I, our two daughters (5 and 8), plus my father (who isn't really good at walking but will ahve a car). Any advice would be welcome.

It's hard to find a bad place at OKW. You are never far from a bus stop. There are two great pools (okay, only one with a slide at the Hospitality House - but Turtle Pond is a favorite place for us to stay) and two very good pools.

We had a great two-bedroom and my parents had a nice studio in Building 55 back in 2003. These rooms have a wonderful water view of the canal.

There is also a swimming pool sitting right next to this building.

Well, it looks like we won't have a car. Does that make a difference? I'm glad to hear about the bus stops being close.

If you want to go to Hospitality House (where the shop, check in, restaurant and main pool are), you can hop on a bus and get there and back. That's what my FIL and MIL did when we were recently there. We were in building 48, which looks far away on the map, but we did have a car - DH measured the mileage with the trip odometer and it was actually only .3 miles.

I just read that some buildings have elevators. Obviously, stairs will also be an issue. Does anyone know which bldgs have elevators?

Buildings 62, 63 and 64 have elevators, but all buildings have villas with ground level access. Rather than depend on getting on one of those buildings, I'd just request a first floor room. If you have a view preference (golf course, water, woods) make that request too.

The bus transportation does work well if you don't have a vehicle - just allow a little extra time if you are going to another resort , but OKW to any of the Theme Parks is very doable.
