OKW resort question & 1 bed room help and advice -

Hello,

I am really looking for some help. My hubby and I are considering booking a one bedroom here for next April.

We have visited OKW 14 years ago on our honeymoon - so it has some special memories -but I also remember it was really spaced out . We won't have a car so can some one recommend a block or area to request?

I remember we had a studio and we loved sitting out on porch by the water - but is this because we were far out ?

Also what is a one bedroom like here - can anyone point me in the direction of some photos?

I know OKW was the original DVC resort - how is it looking? has Disney done a good job of maintaining the resort?

What is transportation like? Does the building work at dtd affect this

DVC does a very good job of maintaning the building even after 20 years. There are no rooms bigger than OKW within the DVC system.

Transportation to DTD from OKW is done by both bus and boat. No the work being done at DTD dies not effect either. You will be using a different boat dock than you remember from 14 years ago.

We love OKW but I would not do it without a car. It'd be my last choice sans auto.

We have done many OKW trips without a car. If you feel it is too far to walk to the HH area just hop on any bus. All busses stop a HH.

Absolutely LOVE the one bedrooms at OKW, and we also usuallyvisit in April, for our anniversary. Can't show any photos right now because I'm at work and photobucket's blocked. Although we usually have a car, it's so DH can use it for golf, so essentially I'm dependent on WDW transportation, which works fine. What kind of view do you want? We love the location of Buildings 15, 16, 17, and 18 and their great golf course views and also convenient, yet quiet (away from hub-bub).

Yes, the 1 BRs do have a jacuzzi bath. We like the water (well, what we like is the associated ducks), but the one time we requested water view, we got our least favorite building (40, I think)-a small pond that backed up to a busy road and worst of all, NO DUCKS! Now we just take the golf course view-DH loves golf and we find that there's plenty of water.
