Hi!
We are staying in a 2 bedroom villa at Old Key West this August. Super excited!
I have read many suggestions for building requests. However, the MDE app gives you choices of certain roads. So I am not sure what to pick.
Family of 6- me, DH, DD4, DS2, plus Grandma and Grandpa. Our preferences are to be not too far from a bus stop or pool. I have seen so many posts about certain buildings in different sections being loud due to road noise so I was hesitant to pick.
Any suggestions??

We enjoyed Turtle Pond. Bus stops are close and the Turtle Pond pool has a snack bar( seasonally).

I didn't realize that we can make room requests with MDE.

That being said, sending a room request to MS via the member website allows you to be very specific.

Hi!
I am renting points, so I don't not have access to the member services website. That being said, am I better off contacting Dave's to make specific requests?
Thank you!!

I would request that the owner add the request to the reservation.

There are bus stops scattered throughout OKW. YOu are never really far from one. If you want to be really close to a stop, request it. Personally I do NOT want to be too close because there's a chance I would hear the buses running into the night. OKW has been my home resort for over 20 years and we LOVE it!

I selected Peninsular Rd in the hopes of getting a room in buildings 23-29 but we got building 47 (which is still on Peninsular Rd). This was farther down than I would have liked and very noisy (bus noise) This area can be quiet I think depending on where your villa is actually placed because I have heard reports of noise not being an issue here. The next time we stay here, I think I will select Miller's Rd because we stayed here once and loved the area. Also, when you check in (if you actually physically check in) mention to the CM exactly what you are looking for (maybe narrow it down to your most important request). You may be surprised. When we checked in SSR THV I wanted a treehouse as close as possible to the path to SSR. I mentioned this to the CM (this was not an option on MDE requests I don't think) and she made it happen.

Buildings 23 to 26 are in the near hospitality house category. 28 and 29 have crappy views (trees). Building 47 is actually considered South Point.

My favorite is Turtle Pond. I had rooms in 37 and 43, quiet with great views.

Loved South Pointe Road area, building 56 was across from the bus stop and directly next door to the quiet pool. I've also done the HH booking category, and that was super convenient...building 14 and we never heard any bus noise unless we were walking through the parking lot! Next time I do OKW, I think I'd like to try Miller's Road...

Very interested in this.
We are staying at OKW for the first time in December.
Many kids ... Little ones , so we are thinking of requesting a building with an elevator and leaving it at that.

Those buildings are usually reserved for medical needs since there are only three of them. You might want to request lower floor.

On MDE I requested upper floor and Fairway view as I really wasn't sure what area I wanted. We were given Building 35 - villa 28 which was on the second floor. This was in the Turtle Pond Road area. The view was of trees. It was a quiet location. The bus stop was just across the road but we weren't aware of bus noise. We were also a short walk from the quiet pool. The Turtle Shack had very short hours 11am-4pm.

Requests are NEVER guaranteed, especially at OKW where they are at 99% capacity pretty much all the time. It's very hard to change rooms at OKW, depending on the time of year of course, but in December be open to where you are because it's probably going to be very busy at the resort. Request it through MDE, going through Member Services usually doesn't put the request on there even though they say they do. You'll have a better chance just calling the WDW reservations phone number, really.
