OKW renos

Interesting question....I can't see it in any of the new photos, but I think ChuckS stayed in one recently, so perhaps he can comment on that.

There was a table and chairs in our studio. They had been repainted/recovered. I never stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom...so I can't answer about a dedicated 2nd bedroom.

The pictures don’t show the area where the table was. The table area would be sort of in front of and to the left of this bed, close to the kitchenette/bathroom area. None of the allears pictures show that area.

This picture of an un-renovated room shows where the table and chairs were in comparison with the beds:

This was a lock-off, handicapped accessible studio. The refrigerator is next to the bed because the sink area has a roll under sink. The other difference compared to the allears picture is that the dedicated 2 bedroom doesn’t have a patio door and deck off the studio as this lock off does. The dedicated rooms have just a window where the patio door is on this picture.

Chuck has a picture of the renovated chair in his photo album.

But the white Mickey Head on the table just looks tacky. This isn't Pop Century or the All Stars where we need to be constantly reminded.
Funny, but now that the table is crackled like this, glass marks won't show as much, since many don't have a clue what the "Mickey Coasters" are for in the 1st place!

I wish they had done a foot rest again for the living room chair. Even if it pulls out there's plenty of room to push it to the side.

I mentioned this to my husband. Not only is the chair ugly, now there's nowhere to put my feet. (I'm short...only 5'1"; my feet don't usually reach the floor in most chairs!)

I'm sorry to those who are very opposed to the renos. I LOVE them! I think it looks much more refreshed and something I'd want to stay in, as opposed to something old, drab, and tired. The old furnishings didn't really scream "1900's OKW" to me either, so I'm not too sad to see them go... more "early 1990's style" haha. Of course, I'm 25 so my tastes are reflected by my age; I want it new and clean. I like the "mishmosh" because I do think that they are complementary and they really did tie in the dark and light woods in several places as pointed out by a PP.

Now I'm thinking I want to do a 1 bedroom because those pictures are making me hanker for one!!

I do wish they'd have a footstool for the chair. I hate not having any place to put my feet!

ETA: It really reminds me of BC now (BC not BCV). And I happen to love all things beach, and really all things blue, so I love the new color scheme.

I think I remember seeing some listed on ebay - guess that person figured they were for making money.

Well, you may have young tastes, but your taste has NOTHING to do with the theme at OKW.

Exactly, and that's why it isn't appropriate to the OKW theme, but more to the BC theme.

For those of you are taking videos...a word to the wise....Try taking it at night with lights on instead of dealing with the bright sun from the windows that washes out all color in the room. Also...PLEASE move S-L-O-O-O-O-W-L-Y! I get seasick watching those!;)

Maybe it's the cameras that are being used or something, but I have yet to see a video I could really see anything on.

At least this last one proved there IS a rug under the coffee table, and that's a good thing!

I agree. And see if you can focus on some of the changes - like the chairs in the rooms. Closeups of the headboard.

I think we've all seen the artwork multiple times - that didn't change at all. And there isn't any change in the bathroom or closets.

I agree but want to thank you for filming and posting.

Yes, Thank you. I didn't mean it to sound as critical as it did, but I've been longing to see real detailed pictures of the renos, and so far the still pictures seem to be the best for that.

I'm still wanting to see a good closeup of the countertop. I can't tell if it's granite or quartz. The old pink one was quartz.

Yes, that chair is way too ugly to have anything make it look good! I assume it's as uncomfortable to sit on as the ones at AKV too. To make matters worse, they used the same ugly fabric on the wicker chair in the bedroom!:sad2:

I saw that counter top picture on All Ears too, and that's actually what made me question if it was granite or quartz. It looks too uniform to be granite, and looks a bit like a tan version of the quartz/Silestone/ type stuff that used to be on there in pink.

Stayed in room 4120 (turtle pond) from 6/30-7/6. Studio, refurbed, flat screen tv. new paint, new beds, new bedspreads. room was great.

The flat panel doesn't need to be on a pullout. Those doors slide back into the cabinet. I was really hoping though that they would put the flat panel up higher so it was easier to see. I was hoping maybe they'd mount it above the banquet cabinet on the other side of the room. I hate having the TV down near the floor. If you have a small child, they are always in the way of the screen.

Am I the only one totally dismayed by the placement of the new TV is in the living room? It is on floor level, people. And it is a teensy TV!. Floor level! What were they thinking?
