We just changed our ressie from Nov to the 3rd week of April and we're staying at Old Key West. I know they are in the process of rennovating it, but does anyone know if it will be done by April? Or if not, Is there a certain section we can request that is done? Thanks

The renovations are scheduled to be completed in "Spring." Currently the Turtle Pond area is complete and many of the buildings in South Point are complete. So, if you request either of those areas, you are likely to get a renovated unit.

During the annual Disney Vacation Club Condominium Association meeting, Jim Lewis, the president of the Disney Vacation Club, announced that Disney’s Old Key West timeshare resort is receiving an upgrade to provide a fresh new look to all their guest rooms and timeshare villas. Currently, Disney’s Boardwalk Villas are getting a makeover that is very similar to the renovation plans for the Old Key West Disney timeshare.

All guest rooms and timeshare villas will be receiving fresh coats of paint, new carpeting, refinished wood floors, and new drapes and blinds. In addition to the renovations, all one-bedroom and larger timeshare villas will be receiving a twin-sized sleeper chair in the living that will be able to accommodate one more guest, as well as more seating space in the living room. This will increase the number of allowed guests in all Disney timeshare villas by one, which may be a cost-saving solution for some Disney timeshare owners.

The upgrade also includes all new upholstery for the sofa and the love seat in the living room, as well as modern flat screen televisions in the timeshare living room and guest rooms. The fully-equipped kitchens will be transformed into gourmet kitchens with granite countertops and new cabinet hardware. Even the bedrooms and living room will be receiving new ceiling fans and lamps. These renovations will bring forth a new modern style to the guests room and timeshare villas.

Disney Old Key West Resort offers a sun-soaked hideaway that captures the whimsical essences of the Florida Keys. Just got back a few days ago and asked an area manager. All renovation is expected to be complete by the end of March 2011.
