okw refurb?

Hello; Have any of the units/buildings at OKW been refurbished? If so which ones and when. Thanks

Yes, they have done refurbs every few years on all the buildings. It usually takes a couple of years to go through the whole resort, only to start over again. Last year they replaced the sleeper sofas and a lot of the tile in the bathrooms was refurbished. We have been there several times when we have seen them replacing mattresses. The appliances were changed out the past two years as well.

Our room in building 37 last month still had the old sleeper sofa, so they still haven't completed the change out of those. The appliances were new.

Our guide told us in May they just signed a new agreement with a large mattress company and will soon start changing out all the mattresses in all the villas in all the resorts.

I doubt anyone knows that, but I would be surprised if they do that at OKW, since those mattresses were replaced last year.

Actually it will take place at all DVC resorts because it was in the contract all resort beds are involved. DVC or Disney not sure which one it was but they are changing them all regardless of how new or old the mattress is. also they are supposedly changing the TV's and DVD players back to Sony like they have done at SSR or are starting to do anyhow.

We were in building 24 June 1 thru the 5th and the entire unit was refurburshed. We had a one bedroom and the pull out couch was excellent!!!!! I always hate them, but this one was great!!
