Hi all! I have a question for those who've stayed at OKW...I was looking at photos of the resort and some ariel views. The resort looks pretty laid out, and I was wondering if there was more than one place the Disney buses picked you up on property? It looks far to walk to the main lobby area, but I'm guessing it's probably only about 5 minutes (at Disney, looks can be deceiving!). We aren't going to have a car, so I was just wondering about the size of OKW.....we usually stay at a value, where the busses pick you up in one spot and the furthest room is only about a 5 minute walk, if that! Any insights? More than one bus stop? Only one pick-up/drop off spot? How far to the main lobby area from the farthest building?? Thanks my smart, helpful, DIS friends!! :disrocks:

Here is a link to the DIS site general page about OKW.
And also a link to the resort map.
If you look on the map, you can see there are many bus stops; you are really never more than a 5 minute walk away from a bus stop. The very farthest building is probably a 10 to 15 minute easy walk to the Hospitaility House. There are quiet pools throughtout the property and the Turtle Pond pool is sort of between being a feature pool and a quiet pool. It has a snack bar and a playground area.

Thanks Sue!! :wave2: Much more helpful. The UOG doesn't include the pools and bus stops....just wanted an idea of where they were!!

I was wondering if you would be able to walk to the Hospitality House from all of the buildings? It sounds like you can. I just wasn't sure if there are sidewalks throughout the resort, being that there is a golf course on property. I was worried if we got a room far away from the main pool we would have to drive or take the bus to get to it.

It is a very nice walk (if the weather is good) to walk to the Hospitality House (and Olivia's and the store) from anywhere at OKW. OKW resembles a small community (that's probably why they call the area Conch Flats) more than a hotel, so there are sidewalks all over the place.

For the theme parks, the buses stop first at Peninsular, then South Point, then Turtle Pond, then Miller Road and, finally, the Hospitality House. The DTD bus also stops at the HH first and last which makes it the internal bus. You can hop it at the HH and ride it back to your villa.
