Can anyone tell me how the buildings at OKW are set up?

We are planning a big family trip and will be making reservations for 3 or 4 studios and 2 - 1 bedrooms.

I entertained the thought of a Grand Villa but DH thinks it could be disastrous for everyone to be in one space :rotfl2:

Is there a chance that we will all be in the same building at all, or are the buildings all set up to have all studios, all 1-bedrooms, etc.?

Thanks!

There is always a chance, unfortunately it's not a very likely one.
Make that request during online check-in if you can and also upon arrival, it will all depend on what's available at that moment. Sometimes if you plead very nicely they might be able to work something out for you, maybe not all in the same building but at least buildings close to one another.

Each building is a mixture of studios, 1 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms and GVs

OKW is a large spread out resort here's a map,

Good Luck I hope it works out for you all.

Like PP said, the building are just a mixture. I would suggest not so much worrying about being in the same building, but rather requesting rooms that would share the same bus stop. That way you can all meet up and head to the parks together.

You might be able to go through this listing and find the locations to the different rooms and make some requests.

We've done this twice--2-2BR and 2-studios and each time we gotten all the rooms in the same bldg. Another time, DM was moved to a bldg caddy corner to ours but only because she requested a 1st floor room at check-in. I know we've been lucky but I've always found if you reference all other reservations on each one they will try to accomodate your family.
BTW--we did like having separate places for the kids to unwind and had one of the 1BR as the meeting place. (not mine of course;))
Good luck

We stayed there in October 2009 in 1-2 bedroom villa and 2 studios. We had requested to be close together but the 2 bedroom villa was in South Point and the studios were in the Turtle Pond area. They were full that week and unable to move us closer together. That same year we went with other friends in July and had 2 studios. They were in the same building, just on opposite sides of the building. We are doing a grand gatherings trip again this coming February and need 5 studios. Hopefully, we'll at least be in the same bus stop area.

When you book, be sure and get 2-2 BR lockoffs instead of 2 studios and 2 1 BRs. Those units will be together but separate, and you can save some points.

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't even thought of that....

I have found it seem to help if you get a Grand Gathering number and request that the rooms be close. I don't always book an event but we've always been near each other.
