It's funny that I don't see a lot of talk on here about OKW. I wonder why that is? Anyway, we are considering staying at OKW for our Fri and Sat night stay at the end of our Beachclub trip in June. Less points for us DVC folks. I have chosen the "preferred location", which is basically very close to the hospitality house and main pool. I need this since I have four teenagers to keep track of. I believe there is also basketball court, shuffle board, etc. and a boat to Downtown Disney. The rooms don't connect so I guess my husband and I will be in different rooms. I have a couple options I need opinions on. One, stay at BC 2 BR from Sun-Sat and check in only to OKW studios on Sat. Or stay at BC 2BR from Sun-Fri and check into OKW for Fri. and Sat., seems better to move for two days???? Please let me know if I will like OKW w/ my kids. If we do OKW at the end it will be for merely relaxing and playing basketball and maybe the boat to DTD. Will do all the parks up at Beachclub. Don't know what to do, please help. Sorry this is so long.

In my short-lived opinion, OKW is DVC's best kept secret! We are currently in the process of selling our SSR contracts to repurchase OKW! We love the relaxing atmosphere of the resort, the size of the rooms, the amount of activities that are available, the boat to DTD, and the quality of the bus transportation (well, some have been reporting that there are bus issues...but those seem to be across all of WDW while they are playing around with the computer dispatching the bus experiment).

I would move for the two days and spend time relaxing before you go home!
You better call MS quickly and see if there is availability :)

We stayed at the OKW last month before going to the YC...it was at the 40% off discount code and the only thing available. We liked it because we wanted a nice quiet relaxing place and is what you get at OKW.

Why do 2 studios instead of a 2 bedroom? It isn't THAT many more points, and your group size certainly warrants it. FYI, I do NOT think studios are a good test of OKW. Also, the studios are always on the outside ends of the buildings, so you are likely to be either on opposite ends of the same building or maybe a floor above or below. There are tennis courts in two different areas at OKW. One is at HH, but one is near Turtle Pond.

My teenagers love OKW and want to stay there every trip. I agree with the above poster to go with a two bedroom if possible - the kids can have the attached studio, you'll have a great patio and full size living/dining area to relax alone or as a family, and you and your DH will have the huge master suite to share. OKW has lots of free activities, plus it's close to Epcot and HS as well, and the boat to DTD is wonderful (or it's a couple minutes by bus). Enjoy (and do the two nights for sure)!

Just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my questions. I decided to add on the 2 BR Saturday night (75 pts!) onto my reservation I already had from Mon-Sat at the Beachclub. I was just trying to save points and according to my calculations, and I certainly do them enough, it saves me 19 points to stay in two studios as opposed to the 2 BR at OKW. Way too much effort, I merely took off my Sunday, saved the points and used them to stay at the same place from Mon-Sun now, all at BeachClub. I have over 300 points, but we are hitting a 3 day cruise in August for my 40th (I almost put 30th, wow!) and it took up 465 of my points! It is not an accident that the studios do not connect at the vacation club resorts and do at all the other disney resorts, I didn't know that until I needed two rooms and found out we could be in totally different buildings. Thankfully I thought enough to ask in advance. I can't wait to check out OKW, I think I will before our cruise for a couple days. Thanks again.

We want to do exactly the same thing, but we're having a hard time justifying losing money to do it. OKW is the only resort we really want to stay in. We're stuck going to AKV this summer and Christmas to accomodate the guests that are coming along, but next year it will be all OKW :cool1:

Ha, some people should be so "stuck". :lmao: Though I am looking forward to my stay at OKW in two weeks.
