OKW poolslide. When?

We plan to be at OKW from January 11-23. Will the main pool be closed for the construction of the pool slide?

When they mentioned it in the BWV annual meeting less than 2 weeks ago, they said it was still in the design phase. They didn't have a completion date, but it didn't sound like they were ready to start construction in the next month.

I think at the OKW meeting they said they were going to start work on it in Sept of 04. I think this is correct.

At the OKW annual meeting on December 10, Sonya, the OKW General Manager, said a pool slide would be added in 2004. DVD will pay the initial cost. She said the design work would begin in "early 2004" followed by the construction. To the best of my knowledge (notes & recollection) there was no mention of September 2004.

After the meeting I did ask Sonya about costs after the "initial cost." She brought a DVC financial CM into our conversation, & they said members will see about a 3-4 cent per point rise in their dues. This will pay for maintenance & lifeguards.

When I spoke with MS this morning, I specifically asked if any rehab would be going on while we were there (2/25-3/5) and they were not positive, but it was highly doubtful. I will be curious to see where they actually put the slide at the main pool? The deep area is right there by the dolphins. That is the only place I can think of.
