Do the quiet pools get crowded frequently? I know the main pool can at times. Wondering if it would be nicer to request a bldg. close to a quiet pool instead of the HH.

We have never experienced crowding at the Miller's Road or South Point pools, but I think the Turtle Pond one can get busy.

We've stayed at OKW twice, and both times preferred walking to and using the Miller's Road pool. It was less used, but a few times, I felt overwhelmed by ball-playing youngsters.

I think the people in the villas with the pool courtyard view from the balcony may find it a bit noisy.

go for a quiet pool - yes the crowds are less - now there will be screaming children on some days. but most of the kids want the slide.

plus most of the quiet pools are near a bus stop!!!!

Thanks! I'm thinking of requesting Bldg.55 or 56. and if not HH area. We've been near a quiet pool at SSR and the it was nice. The kids were even quiet, but they are pretty quiet anyway. We were in Bldg 14 in June and liked that as well. I wanted to request something REALLY close to a pool. From the map it looks like the pool is right behind Bldgs 55 & 56. Anyone ever stay in those bldgs?

Those high-50s buildings are GLORIOUS... quiet and pretty and right near that great pool which is rarely crowded. We love South Point! We also love the Turtle Pond area, even though it can be a bit more active. Really "busy" is a relative term at OKW because even when it is full it doesn't seem hectic. Have fun!

55 and 56 and the BEST! I really like 45 and 46 too, but they are farther from the pool.

definitely!!!

I like building 18 on miller road too.

We used the Miller Rd. Quiet Pool after dinner and usually were the only ones there... Gotta love it..

I think I will request 55 or 56. Can you request a certain Bldg? I am looking forward to the peacefulness of OKW. Sit on the balcony, smell the fresh air, and relax (for a change). Although I love BCV, I sure fell in love with OKW! We needed to slow down are vacations a bit and OKW is the perfect place to do that.

Just be aware that on occasion, entire families will "hijack" those quiet pools and --without any lifeguards around--create the exact atmosphere Bobbiwoz describes. They may also carry on into the night well past the posted pool hours.
That's the main reason we never request (or accept) a room anywhere near a pool.

That depends a bit on the time of year as well. We often travel in the cooler months, and it has never been a problem.

you know we only have that happen once. a real rowdy bunch. well when the kids hit me twice with their basketball - I turn around and glared at the father.

he got the hint - and the kids quit acting like they were the only people in the world. they didn't want to - but I also kept their basketball until they promised not to hit me again.

I have had more problems with drunks in the hot tub at nights. Drunks can be awfully worst than any family. I tried the first time to reason with them. Now I just call the security guards. Learned the hard way there is no reasoning with a drunk.

Thanks for bringing those points up. I never would have thought about it. That would be rude for someone to do that. My girls (10 and 3) just love to swim so much and that's my reasoning for thinking we should be by the pool. Two yrs ago we were right at the Luna Park Pool right behind the bar/carousel and could walk out of our door right to the pool. We never heard anything at night..maybe we just got lucky or were way too tired to hear it. Would you suggest any different Bldgs?

I have been at OKW what at least 40 times - you are talking about 4 visits...

so I still think you are safe in building 55.

building 56 you could possible hear the bus coming and going.

building 18 is great - but if you are getting a 1-bedroom - the only way to the bathroom is through the master bedroom. Over 30 building don't have this problem.

you can heard the buses from several building - sometimes the bus will turn around in the parking lot of the building - avoid these if possible

Thank you so much, Pat! :goodvibes The walking through the master bedroom to go to the bathroom is no big deal. We had that in Bldg 14 last year and with 2 kids they are all over us anyway (I forgot what it's like to have privacy). I appreciate everyone's help! Have a great day!
