OKW Poll, Water Slide or No Water Slide

I remember that poll from years back. I think the cost for dues was 5 cents a point. That is about $10 a year for every 200 points.

I would pay it but I can see where those who would not use it would rather not. I think it would be nice to have a life guard also.

We also go to at least one water park per stay. It comes as an option with our hopper tickets. I rarely do the slides but there is so much more than a resort pool can offer.

I vote for the second picture. But can they install an elevator?

Of course I would never go down it, just watch from Epcot.

Of course we all know that this poll has no meaning, but that is not the point. I own at OKW and have stayed at OKW, BWV and VWL. I love them all. I do wish that the OKW main pool would have a slide. If not a slide, then some improvement to the pool area. It just does not compare to any of the other pools. Just because it did not seem important at first, does not mean that this is still the case. Pool hopping has become restricted and may not be long for this world altogether. I certainly hope this is not the case. I, for one always took advantage of it. This will be my first year not swimming at SAB. My son is very upset about it. I think if there were a slide or an interesting feature at the OKW pool the scales would be a bit more balanced. I think it would make this property more desirable to a broader range of people. If the slide were only at the main pool, guests would still have a choice of going to a quieter pool without a slide. As it is now, the opposite can not be said. While I don't want to impose my family's swimming preferences on other guests, that is exactly what has happened when the poll went out and the slide was voted down. I think that we should all try to think of one another's wishes. I don't just mean this at DVC. We should all try to practice this a little more in ourdaily lives. This world would be a much more peaceful and accepting place.

I could not care less whether OKW has a slide or not but I do think they should have life guards. A Disney pool does not have to have a slide to have life guards as the All Star Resorts pools do not have slides yet all their pools have life guards. This is just simple safety.
I think the pool hopping option is not very far away from being eliminated all together and I think this will be for the best, then those that want a quiet pool without a slide or life guard can choose to stay at a resort that provides this while those that desire these things and pay the fees to support these things can stay at those resorts.
