OKW or YC.....

I was just looking through my ressie and decided to check on a couple of more properties. I noticed that i could book a one bedroom villa at OKW for the same price as my Lake View room at YC. Any opinions on which is better? I'm thinkin due to the YC location and SAB pool it would be the better option for DW, DD and myself but man does that one bedroom villa look inviting.

Personally I like the YC location and travel options better. Busses get boring to me.

OKW is very nice and the one bedroom is giant - about 1200 sf. You'd get a jacuzzi tub, stand alone shower, full sized washer and dryer, full sized kitchen. King sized bed in the bedroom, queen sized sleeper in the living room. Very large porch with table and four chairs. Table and four chairs in the dining room. Two TVs - one with either a VCR or DVD. OKW also just added a new slide at the main pool. Not quite SAB, but nice, just the same.

So if you plan on spending more time at SAB than in the room, go with YC. If you are looking for a luxury lodging, stay at OKW. Buses are good at OKW. There are 5 bus stops for OKW only. You can rent boats, bikes and surrey bikes at OKW. Plus you are only a boat ride away from DTD. And very close to TL.

we personally lwould choose the yacht club, we like its simple seaside themed romance & ambiance. we're also partial as we're getting married there next year. we enjoy that the boardwalk & its entertainment are right across the lake & the friendship boats to epcot & mgm.

old key west is also nice & more secluded. dtd is a boatride away like deb&bill said & you do get alot more space though.

We have done both... and both are great! It really just depends on what type of vacation you're looking for. Staying at the YC is like staying at a hotel... staying at OKW is like staying in a condo. There are pluses and minuses to both. At YC you are going to have a better pool, more dining options, and you're closer to the parks. At OKW you are going to have a huge amount of space, an awesome bathroom, your own washer and dryer, your own kitchen, etc. So it just depends on what is important to you.

If you can book a one bedroom at OKW for the same price a YC room..definately book at OKW. That is a great deal..usually it is the Studio room that is the same price as the deluxe resort rooms...I would go for it.

I would book OKW 1 bdrm over YC, but I don't like huge crowds, even when we stay at BCV I use the quiet pool so that sort of nullifies the SAB effect. My DDs would take a 1 bedroom at OKW over a studio at BCV (I know you are staying at YC but the rooms are pretty much the same. OKW also has a community hall right off the main pool.

Don't forget about that lake view at YC! It's hard to beat sitting out on your balcony at night looking over Crescent Lake across at the lights of the Boardwalk! Watching the boats during the day isn't bad either. And who knows you might get lucky and also get a view of Illuminations at night! I'd book YC but then again you can look at my sign-on name and tell that much. LOL
