okw or value resort?

If OKW was cheaper than the values where would you stay? I need to make a decision ASAP but I cannot decide!

Wait, this is apples and oranges. OKW are villas, as in master bedroom with Jacuzzis and a full kitchen. (I don't cook much but it sure is handy)
This really can't be a dilemma?

You can't even compare the OKW studios with a value resort. That being said OKW

The villas at OKW at huge, beautifully colored and centrally located. You are closer to DTD, Epcot, MK & DHS. You will have a kitchen, laundry, and the units have a balcony with chairs so you can sit outside and relax instead of being trapped in a little room.

think they are talking about studios not 1-bedroom and up.

studios are great. only problem dvc has changed it policy - not glasses and mugs - instead stryofoam (hate it)

2 queen beds - kitchenett - under the counter refrigerator, mircowave, toaster, coffee maker, plus the balcony.

they are nice.

the views can be woods, water or golf - I happen to love water views.

you can be near HH, bus stop or pool.

the bus service for OKW has improved - but at oKW there are still 5 stops that the bus must take before leaving. (this seems to upset some people - now I appreciate that nothing is far from a bus stop).

pop has one stop the goes directly to the parks.

would always pick queen beds over double beds.

Maybe you can give a few more details about your trip as to why it would be such a difficult decision to choose...do you have kids that are at an age you feel they would prefer the theming of the values, do you prefer the convenience of having a food court, etc. Sometimes it isn't just about the luxury level of the resort.

But for the record -- I'd go with OKW just for the fact that it's two queen beds, a refrigerator/microwave/coffee pot are included in the price, the pool has a slide, and it's more relaxing. Plus when doing a price comparison, if you are using someone's DVC points there's no room tax and you can also add DDP without buying tickets (which is great for people that have AP's or no-expiration tickets from a previous visit).

OKW is much nicer! We stayed in a studio in Sept and loved it. The resort was beautiful. The kids loved the pool area. I was a little worried we would miss the food court - didn't even notice it wasn't there until we got home.

This is a no-brainer.

(but if you prefer the food court and 20 ft tall statues for the youngsters, i'll understand...)

Guess I'll be the oddball. I'd pick a Value. I stayed at an Old Key West studio for 5 nights and I didn't like it. Things to consider:

- If you don't have your own car, transportation at OKW is very slow. There are numerous stops throughout the resort. Values bus service is MUCH better, hands down.

- Are you looking for relaxation or fun? Do you have kids? I found OKW relaxing, but boring. I felt like I was in a golf resort.

- If you're renting points from a DVC member as I did, you don't get housekeeping every day. I don't like that.

- At All Stars, you'll be closer to Animal Kingdom. At Pop, you'll be same distance from everything as OKW, except for DTD.
