OKW or SSR

Well, it has been around far longer so the mature trees, etc do lend credence to that. The golf course runs entirely through it as well rather than just one set of buildings like at Saratoga. They do keep the golf course well manicured. Probably not a huge difference between the two but I would give the edge to OKW.

Ah, interesting to know. Never stayed at either yet but from what I have seen at SSR, passing by, the grounds are beautiful but I guess OKW has them beat then.

and gator repellent. We had gators on the path in between hole #2 and #3 two years ago and that is right by the path if I am not mistaken. Also have seen them on the backside on the par 3 you hit over water not far from PO.

Shame, I've never seen the Gators. Being from the UK where all dangerous animals were hunted out if existence 200 years ago, I love seeing things like Gators.

I always seemed to have good luck seeing them when golfing. I just let them be. The ones we saw on LBV course after the second hole blocked the path but there was an alternate path and all we did was back up and swing around. There were some workers coming after we crossed the bridge and teed off over the water nearby. Thinking they might have been animal control because that is actually pretty close to some of the South Road buildings of OKW. One was probably 8 feet long and the other was probably only 3 ft long. They were right where I have the circle in this pic

There was a black bear spotted a few years ago out near the OKW path to Disney Springs and SSR at night. Don't take the path at night. It's not safe, even with a flashlight. Take a bus or boat. Or cab or Uber or Minnievan.

Boys weekend of golf,,4 nights,,2bdrm. Playing all 3 courses (18holes)
OKW has a bigger floor plan, but SSR is closer to Springs for after hours.
For those who have done this what would you choose. Or even those who have not.
We will not be going to any parks.

Makes me long for the days when there were 5 - 18 hole courses. I would say old key west. Simply because you have the same transportation to Disney Springs via the boat. if you stay in saratoga, that place is so big, you never know if you will be close enough to walk to anything.

The golf course views at OKW are some of the best around. great way to put one in the mood for golfing.

SSR is closer to Springs for after hours.
For those who have done this what would you choose.

For me: OKW. I like the island-time vibe of the resort and the lush landscaping more than SSR's slightly more formal-garden feel. The room layout at OKW provides a better balance between living areas and bedrooms, and the balconies/patios at OKW are large enough to truly enjoy. The boat to Springs is a lovely way to get there and back when the weather isn't oppressive. SSR's food situation is better, and the pools are nicer, but that's not enough to tip the balance for me.
