OKW or Port Orleans

I am planning a weekend trip to WDW. I have a reservation at OKW for Jan 25-28. Now that the free hopper and water park option is offer for vacation package. I priced Port Orleans and found I can save a little by booking a package at POR for the same date.

OKW is our home resort. We only stayed there two nights before. We certainly love to stay there again. But we also like to try different resort.

We are family of 4. I have left over tickets to cover all the parks except Disney Quest. My DD12 and DD9 love DQ. Our older hopper plus cannot be used there. So we paid cash last time. They want to go again. That is one reason I am thinking about taking the package and getting some new tickets to cover DQ. But I will have to pay more $$$ up front this time.

So I decided that I will try to decide based on the resort choice. Which one would you prefer? We will not rent a car, and we will be on Dinning plan.

Port Orleans is wonderful. Remember that it is a hotel room only. No kitchenette. The OKW studios have two queen beds, a kitchenette, BIG bathroom, nice balcony or patio, etc. Even if PO is cheaper, you get more
for your $$ at OKW. That said, I've stayed at POR several times and loved it.

I've stayed at Port Orleans a few times and it is a very nice resort but it doesnt compare to OKW (imo). I would stay at OKW or maybe another DVC resort if you want to try something new.

Isn't it nice to have such "problems", which resort to stay at... life is good! Love my DVC !!!

I called DVC to check on my waitlist and found the first two nights at the Beach Club.

I am still on the waitlist for the third night. But it is going to be a DVC vacation for sure. We went to the Beach Club for dinner before and loved the resort.

Actually I don't really mind split the stay this time. We won't have too much stuff for a 3 night vacation and we will be able to spend the last day in OKW before our flight in the afternoon. We did that last time and really enjoyed the boat ride to downtown Disney and biking around the resort.
