OKW or another recomendation

I could use some advise. I am going to Disney for 6 nights in Oct. I have 3 adults, 3 kids and a baby.

The only two bedroom suite I could reserve is at OKW. From what I have seen and heard, transportation is an issue and with so many young ones, I am worried.

Should I be concerned? Can anybody else recommend some place other to stay with my large group? I would appreciate the help.

We are renting (points) a 2BR Villa and a studio for 6 adults for 5 nights in October. There is a link on this site for a map of bus stops at the resort. Perhaps you should request a villa near a bus stop. I know someone who absolutely loves OKW, stays there 2 times per year. I have read where people sometimes have to wait for buses and sometimes don't. I have stayed at 5 different resorts on 8 different trips and depending on the day and the time I get to the bus stop, sometimes I wait and sometimes I don't wait very long. The longest I ever waited was for 20 minutes at AKL, one time. Stayed there 5 nights and only waited more than 5-10 minutes once. I have never stayed at OKW B4, but have wanted to. We will be there the 12-17th. Probably not much help, but I think it just depends.

The trans. is no worse at OKW than any other resort. I would suggest you give it a shot. The rooms are more spacious at OKW than any other resort. With kids(trust me I know) this comes in handy. You also have the full service kitchen.

Relax. You've made a wonderful choice. There's a report from someone just back from OKW over on the DVC board (stayed in a GV). He reports that he thought the transportation was excellent....no more than a 10 minute wait for any bus. He may have had exceptionally good luck but I would agree that I haven't found the bus service any worse than any other Disney resort. You also very often find yourself on a "private" bus at some times during the day. OKW doesn't share with any resort so you and your family may find yourselves the only ones on some buses.

OKW is wonderful! One of the big advantages (besides all the space you'll have, plus the jacuzzi, plus the washer/dryer, plus the kitchen) is that if you have a car, you can park it right in front of your villa. That's so convenient!

I wouldn't worry about being at OKW, but if you really want to try for a different location, keep checking. I see you're new to the Boards and don't know if you're aware that room inventory is a constantly changing phenomenon. Rooms become available all the time.

In the meantime, enjoy the OKW pictures and day dream of a great trip. It's a very relaxing resort.
