We are staying for the first time at OKW in December. I requested Hospitality House. I heard there is a booking category of Hospitality House and that if you ask for it you get it. Is that true? MS didn't mention that to me.

Also, if you get the Hospitality House do you need a car? We always take disney transportation because a rental car is so expensive, but I heard you have to have a car at OKW to enjoy it.

Check your confirmation letter. If it states "Hospitality House" then you got that category. If it doesn't mention Hospitality House, then you are not in that category.
You can use Disney transportation no matter where you are at OKW, just like you can at any Disney resort. If your OKW room is not close to HH, you can take any bus to HH because they all stop there before exiting OKW. There are bus stops all around OKW so you will be near one no matter where your room is.
Enjoy OKW. It is a very relaxing place to be.

From the farthest building at OKW to the hospitality area it is a little over 1/2 a mile. Or about an 8 to 10 minute leisurely walk. I the heat of the day, that can seem like a long way, but as the previous poster said, you ca catch a but.

There is no hospitality house on the confirmation letter. This really makes me angry. I gave her two location preferences...hospitality house or turtle pond and she asked me which was first. I said "hospitality house". She didn't say anything about it being a booking category. Well, I guess I can tomorrow and ask them about it.

The near HH category books up fast, if you mentioned it and they didn't give it to you it probably was not available. There are some building close to the HH that are not in the reserved category. Near HH is buildings 11 to 14 and 23 to 26. 15, 16, 62, 63, 64 are fairly close but not in the reserved category.

If your conformation letter does say (room type) near H.House after the vacation home type then MS probably did not book it as requested.

As noted, that category does fill up quickly and was likely not available since it was not mentioned. It will still be noted as a request on your reservation with "Turtle Pond" as the second choice. In addition to the HH category (Buildings 11-14, 23-26) I also consider 62-64, 15,16,17,18,27-29 to also be "near" HH. From any of these buildings you could walk to HH in about 5 minutes and can get off at the first bus stop (Peninsular Road) on return trips from any of the parks to quickly return to any of those buildings.

We always do that whenever we are in Buildings 11-18, 23-29 or 62-64. Turtle Pond is also nice - as is South Point and the Miller's Road areas. We always use the WDW transportation even if we have access to a car. We just consider it another attraction. :)

Enjoy! :)

When I called to change our reservations to OKW last week, the CM said she had HH booking if I wanted that. I told her no because we like South Point, so she put that as a request.
