OKW GV in January

I tried searching for a similar thread, and ended up with results from 2001, so I apologize if this question has been asked more recently! We're planning a family trip for marathon weekend next January, and really want to book a GV at OKW. I know there aren't as many of the GV's as the other sized units, so obviously they are in higher demand. What are our chances of getting a GV for a week at 11 months out. We all want to be together since we live apart, so splitting into smaller units would kind of be a bummer. How fast do GV's book up this time of year? We've already been planning this trip for a year, so please let me down gently if these units go within 5 minutes of opening

We rented points and got a GV at OKW at the 11th month mark...don't know if we were lucky or just made sure we had a great owner and he called on time...we are going the last week of march...for eight nights....12 weeks to go...

I think your chances are very good if you are able to call right at the 11-month mark. I called right at 9ET on Monday for a GV arriving 12/3/11 and got exactly what I wanted. Good luck!

As far as I know Saratoga Springs has the most GV's, I have never stayed at one, but we have friends that did and they booked it 4 months prior to arrival in October 2009 for 5 nights. Maybe they were just lucky, but I would think you should try to book at the resort with the most GV's.

The cost of a week at the other DVC resorts in a GV is substantially more points than one at OKW. We've stayed at SSR and don't care for the theme as much there as we do at OKW as well.
