In a HA Grand Villa at OKW, which part of it is accessible? Do you still have the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom? And those in the elevator buildings, are they accessible. I have someone who uses a scooter, but is not handicapped, just has mobility problems. We do not actually need the roll in shower, lower cabinets, etc.; just the elevator. Or, are any of the OKW GV's on the ground floor? Anyone know? Thanks.

There is a HA GV in building 48 with ground level access. The masterbedroom will be the only accessible bedroom but I believe there is still a jacuzzi and the shower will still be accessible. OKW has no upstair areas with elevator access - only the main level. (All SSR GVs have access to the 2nd floor BRs.)

There are two GVs in building 63 with elevator access to the main floor (again, no access to the second floor). One of those is HA.

We were in the Building 63 HA GV. The master bedroom downstairs did have the roll-in shower, but also had the jacuzzi tub

We have stayed in the wheelchair accessible GV in building 48. That is the only GV with ground floor access.
The accessibility features are:
- a roll under sink in the kitchen so that someone in a wheelchair can use it
- counters of various heights in the kitchen
- a roll in shower with a fold down in the Master bathroom
- a raised seat toilet with grab bars in the Master bathroom
- a roll under sink in the Master bathroom
- 2 bars in the closet in the Master bathroom so that someone in a wheelchair can use the lower bar
- there is a jacuzzi in the Master Bathroom. It appeared to have some extra room along the outside to make transfers easier.

There is another bathroom with a shower downstairs. That is not accessible.
The upstairs is not accessible, but we had 2 people with bad knees (my FIL and my "honorary" BIL) who felt the stairs to go upstairs were not that bad.

Other than the 3 GVs mentioned here (the 2 in building 63 and one in building 48), all the GVs at OKW require a walk up a flight of stairs to get into the GV.
You will need to work with Special Reservations to reserve (not just request) one of these 3 if your person using an ECV can't climb stairs. When we stayed in the GV in building 48, we had one of the wheelchair accessible GVs reserved and blocked for us because our DD can't walk at all and we could not stay if we did not get an accessible room. (Also, our people with bad knees could do the stairs inside the GV, but would not have been able to climb one set to get in, plus one set inside).
If we had just had a request, someone else who came earlier in the day and asked for first first floor or elevator would have gotten it and we would have been out of luck.
If your person can walk up a flight of stairs, some people have left the ECV in the Hospitality House so they did not need to bring it into their room.

I don't know what you can do about this, but we made reservations well in advance for a HA GV (11 mos.). 3 days before our trip, we were informed that by mistake, the HA GV was double booked and were moved us over to SSR. We were all so disappointed. Maybe you should double check a week before or something to confirm. We went through special services, so we had a guaranteed HA reservation, not just a "request", but mistakes happen. I just want to avoid the major disappointment for any one else.
