Hi,

How many GV's are available at OKW in buildings with elevators? Is it just one? (Is there more than one building with an elevator, or just one?)

Photographer .. We are hosting a family reunion this fall and we wanted to use a disney photographer for a family picture at OKW. I think it's going to be too hard to get everyone into a park at the same time ..plus some may opt not to even go into the parks ...so we thought maybe the first morning getting everyone together for a photo. Has anyone ever do this? I've tried to search the disney web site for professional photographer info and not having much luck. Would I go through CRO?? Given that family is from Alaska to VT, it's not very often that we can all be together in one spot.

Thanks for your help! :)

We've used a Disney photographer for a family picture at the Dolphin in '01 and we were thrilled with the results.

We tried to set something up for our last August trip, but not everyone was there, so we did the family picture in Cape May in July, this year.

The Disney photographer produced much much better results than our Cape May photographer did. I think that the Disney offices are closed on the weekends, so you had to get hold of them during the week. We did, however, have our Disney pictures taken on a weekend.

Best wishes. Really, the Disney pictures are the BEST! I think there is a DVC discount, at least there was one last summer, too bad that didn't work out for us.

There are three OKW buildings with elevators - 62, 63 and 64 - but only 63 has GVs. There are two GVs in that building and one is HCA.

The elevator will take you to the second floor of the building which would be the first floor of the GV. None of the OKW GVs have elevator access to the upper floor of the GV. (All of the SSR GVs have access to the 2nd floor).

Here is a complete report about the OKW Building Configuration.

May I suggest a non-Disney photographer.

We were married in 2003 and he did our Disney Fairytale wedding pictures. We loved his work so much that Christmas 2004 we hired him to come to the Boardwalk and take family photos. We received close to 300 photos from that shoot.

I can't say enough good things about him.

The bad thing about hiring a Disney photographer is that even though you can request a certain photographer you are not guaranteed to get them. So you may wind up with the brand new guy that's not that great.

We did the the Castle photo's that only Disney Bride's and Grooms are allowed to take before the park opens. Our photographer was named Mike (can't remember his last name) and had been with Disney for over 20 years.
He took many wonderful pictures, but it was just the luck of the draw that he was our photographer that morning.

Look on the DVC member website under "Member Perks". There is a phone number buried there somewhere. I haven't used them yet but I believe DVC members get a 10% discount.
