OKW GV availability at 11 mos?

We have never needed a GV before and have always had luck getting 2 BR villas. Next May we will need the GV to take my DS and a few friends for a graduation trip ( I think they let me have to many margaritas at luch yesterday) which will bring our total to 10 people. Since OKW is our home resort and we can book at 11 mos what are the chances of a GV being available and should I book day by day? TIA

I had MS tell me any room type that has only a small number available, like a GV you should call day by day at any time of the year. Just to make sure you get your reservation.

I do that with 2br's at VB for Spring Break only 18 dedicated and 36 lockoffs(which who knows how they split them up into 2br's/studio/1brs).

Near the hospitality house is now a new catagory. This is of course, the same number of points as rooms farther away from the hospitality house, but it is first come first served and these rooms will generally go first, so....

If you don't care whether it is near the HH, then I wouldn't bother with calling day by day. Well that is as long as you aren't planning to be there over Memorial Day weekend. We go in May nearly every year. (Can't believe we are going in April this year.) And we have reserved GV's quite often. I've never reserved day by day and even had luck getting one for the first week of May at 6 months out. No waitlists either.

We actually like the South Pointe area better and I didn't even think about Memorial Weekend. Any dates for Memorial Weekend 2009 so I can plan around it?

FYI - One of the GVs near South Pointe is the handicap accessible unit (which has a zero clearance shower in the master bathroom instead of the whirlpool tub).

The two times that we've tried for GVs at OKW we haven't had any problem, but the Memorial Day weekend might be an issue. I tend to agree that your best bet is the daily phone call to member services.

We have stayed in GV's at several locations in OKW and like them all for one reason or another. I never call day by day at 11 months and we always stay in a GV in May. I might if it were Memorial Day weekend though. I try to avoid that time. Good luck with your request and I know you will love them!
