We are staying in an OKW Grand Villa for the first time this year in November. Has anyone stayed in one recently? Anything to share (pos/neg)? Any pictures to share?

Thank you!

We've had the pleasure of staying at an OKW GV, 4 times, soon to be 5 in June and for us the only negative, is that I don't have enough points to stay in one each and every time! Love the grand villas! I'll have to see if I have pictures to post!

Enjoy every minute!

That is so good to hear!!! Is there a specific building or location that you would suggest we request? We are planning to spend some time ating at Olivia's once or twice and using the main pool with waterslide for the kiddos, so something near the HH might be best. But honestly, we just want a great villa and the location isn't going to make or break it.

In case you don't have one, here's a link to a color-coded map showing in which buildings the GVs are located: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g303/GDuLong/OKWMap-January2008.jpg

15, 16, and 63 have nice views. 25 probably does, too, but you'd have to have the HH booking category on your reservation to get that one. We were in 48 last September. It had a nice golf view, easy access to the South Point bus stop, and a short walk to the area pool. You will love staying in one. There are pictures on allearsnet in the Accommodations section.

My favorite GV is in bldg. 15, golf course view with the fountain, it's lovely and close enough to walk to HH but not in the HH category. The other is in Bldg 55, it's near a quiet pool and soemtimes we love to grill and there's a grill right there, again lovely views, but further from HH and the main pool.

We love Olivia's, it's our traditional arrival night dinner, we have resv. on 6/6 for the 9 of us!

I have to tell you that I have the same "awe" factor each and every time I walk into a Grand Villa and for the points you can't beat it!

Yes, I am amazed at how reasonable the points are compared to say AKL where it would be almost double for the same nights we will be there. This will be grandma's first time at WDW, so we wanted to do it right. I can't wait!

Thanks for the suggestion on building 15! We'll submit that request!

We stayed in Bldg 48 last Oct, 10 of us. It was fantastic. Although Bldg 48 is not near HH, it is right near a quiet pool. You will love it wherever you end up!!! The trip to the main pool from there was not unbearable by any means. we had a 2,4,5,6 yr old and my parents in thier late 60's. It was my first time in a GV and it was really nice. Plenty of room and privacy for all. I have some photos but they are not accessible right now. Have fun!!!

Oh thanks so much everyone! I am getting so excited now!!!

Stayed at a GV in January...we were down in Southpoint at the very end of Peninsular Road. Not so close to the HH area or the main pool though. I love the GVs.

The one we were in was refurbished....maybe they all are by now??? I'm ot sure. In any event, I like the refurb pretty much. I love the new kitchen countertops.

The first few buildings on Miller Road are pretty well-located as far as access to the HH area.

We just stayed in a GV in building 15 again 2 weeks ago. LOVE the location....not so much the worn appliances, but everything else was perfect!

the 2 HH units in 25 are a great location. We had a great time
