Hi Folks, We are planning on booking a GV at OKW for the middle of August 2012.
Here are my questions:1.) What is the best location (building) to request? We (2 adults) are traveling with 4 young adults (all over the age of 17) who will probably be interested in DTD as well as being near any activities at the resort, as well as easy access on and off buses. They will be on their own for the most part and will want to be able to come and go as they please. 2.) How difficult are these to book for the middle of August? I am hoping to have the 11 month booking window available but that all depends on the ROFR gods. Can a GV be booked for August at the 7 month window?
Thanks,
Stephen

I'd say August is one of the better times to take a chance at getting a GV at the 7 month window.

FYI, OKW has always had good bus service, so that's all AOK. I'll attach a map so you can see the locations of the GVs.

We had a grand villa in building 29 this month. We found the bus stop and hospitality house to be close enough. Wes so booked it at 7 months with no problem.

We loved the location of our GV in building 25. That is considered HH category however, so that may or may not be available when you call. As PP stated the buses work well at OKW so any location will be workable.

Thanks for all the good information as well as the good advice regarding the quality of the bus system. We are really looking forward to staying in a GV before we go on our cruise.

We had our last GV in bldg. 48, and it was great! The bus stop is right next door to bldg. 48, and it has go past it, turn around, and go back, so all you have to do is stay in your villa and wait until you hear the bus. Right past the bus stop is one of the pools, too, so the villa in 48 is right near everything. We had a full villa of teens with us too, and enjoyed it!:woohoo:

We have stayed in GV's in building 25 several times and really love this location. It is a short walk over the bridge to the Hospitality House and main pool and Olivias, but is on the golfcourse, so quiet and nice views.

My favorite Location for a GV is in Bldg# 15. Beautiful view of the golf course greens and the water fountains. It's close to HH but not in HH. I've also stayed in one in Bldg. # 48 & 43, near enough to quiet pools which have bbq grills.

Our very 1st stay, prior to my really paying attention to building #'s etc. I believe was in a GV in Bldg. # 19. The villa was great but I recall the balcony facing the quiet pool, (not so quiet in reality) and the balcony had lots of vegetation, which due to the lack of view I guess was O.K.

In the end any GV you get I think you'll be impressed with! Anyone.everyone I've ever taken (family reunions mostly) has been wowed!

As far as the booking window, I've booked as late as 5 months and gotten one. I travel 1st week of June and 1st week of August, every year. I do a GV every 2 to 3 years.
