Has anyone golfed at the course at OKW? What is it called? Is it a pretty good course? DH golfed at Eagle Pines (?) in August and loved it. We will be there 4/11-16 and I'd love for him to get some golf time in.

Does anyone want to golf that week? I'm sure he'd love to find some golfing partners in advance and can call to make the ressies.

Lake Buena Vista is the name of the course, and it starts over near DTD.

Thanks, Diane! That's a great start. Now, at least I can look for more information.

We have not golfed there, but I know there are discounts available with DVC membership as well. I believe it is spelled out on the website and in the guidebook.

BTW, building 64 overlooks a green that is surounded by water and is great for watching golf from the balcony!

we will be there 4/11-4/17 and dh always goes golfing a few or so times while we are there, but he likes as earlier as he can get a tee time, if your dh doesnt mind getting up really early to play maybe it will work out, dh also likes the magnolia and osprery and eagle pine.

anyone else for golf?:sunny:

wdwstar--I am going to email this thread to my husband. Maybe he and your husband could coordinate a date and time. That would be great. I guess everyone will be in a better position to plan stuff as soon as park hours and early entry days are announced for april.

We golfed on the LBV course this past July.

The front 9 cuts through OKW while the back 9 more or less cuts through/around the Disney Institute.

That course is a bit more narrow than the other 18 hole courses. As DVC members with OKW as our home resort, we wanted to play that course at least once. Pretty cool to play through the resort!

It is a great course. In fact, the Disney courses are the best in the Orlando area.

You can go to the front bell desk anywhere on Disney property and get a voucher for a free cab ride. They will even call the cab. You can leave your clubs at the course after you are finished or they will keep them for you or send them to another Disney course if you wish. Then they will call you a cab (you're a cab!) and voila, another free ride back to your home away from home. I don't know from discounts except we played three times and got some kind of discount off the price. We played in the morning so we could hang out with the family the rest of the day. Most of their daily discounts ae after 10 am, methinks.

Sure is! First time DH played this course he hadn't stayed at OKW yet. But he got paired with someone who sang its praises the whole time. Last year he played it, and had someone take a picture from the course of him in front of our villa. One of our favorite photos from that trip! He's also played Osprey, Eagle Pines, and Magnolia. His favorite is Osprey, but he loves LBV, feels it's one of the best buys!

two things:
first, I mis-remembered the name of the course DH and DFIL played -- it was Osprey Ridge. They LOVED it!

second -- DH was unable to respond from work, so he asked me to post his email address in the hopes that anyone who wants to golf that week (anytime early, late, anyday) can email him: KeenHo@aol.com

Thanks for all the great information!

We will be at BWV April 10-16 and DH will probably golf almost everyday (he always does). We have a friend who might join him a day or two, but otherwise his four-some is open. Maybe they could hook up. He was planning to buy the DVC card which allows you to play for $95 starting anytime after 10:00. (I think they can make reservations about two weeks before.)

Hi everyone, thank you for posting. I am Keenercam's other half.

I am hoping to golf once or twice during our visit there 4/11-16. I would welcome joining someone elses foursome (if there is room) or forming a new one if we can get a group together. I am also open to play golf with anyone else and just get matched up at the first tee. I am very flexible.

I played Osprey Ridge (last August 26) with my step father and we had a great time, the course was beautiful and challenging. We were paired up with two other singles one from the Allentown, PA area and one from Long Island, NY. We all had a great time.

I would like to get a listing of the park hours for that week before committing to a specific day or time for golf. I would like to make sure I am playing on one or two of the days we'd be staying at OKW and not going to the parks together. I am sure you all understand. :D

As my DW mentioned, please feel free to e-mail me and let's make some plans as soon as possible. We are now only 93 days, 14 hours, 42 minutes from our trip!!! :bounce:

Not that I'm counting or anything.

Have a great day!

Howard
