Quick question:
I was looking over 'official' photos of some of the DVC 1 bedroom resorts.
Wondering if the chairs in the living area and bedroom at OKW really do have footstools ?
None of the other villas seem to.
Thanks :wave2:

Yes and it's a sleeper chair that BWV, BCV, BRV, CCV, VGF, AKV-value 1BRs, VGC and Aulani don't have. Don't think the new RR has them either. Just BLT, OKW, AKV (except value), VB and HHI have them. But only VB also (along with OKW) has the foot rest with the sleeper chair.

I know this is an old post but thought I give my question a chance here before starting a new thread because it is pretty much the same subject. My family always stay off site in a timeshare RCI trade. Our June trip got canceled of course and RCI only gave a credit for the exchange fee. We needed to travel before the summer was over or lose our money (because of schedule problems, not RCI limits) and went looking for what I could find for the end of July and was a nice resort.

Okay, that is the back story that probably really isn’t even important. Well, what did my I see come up on my screen for me but an OKW 1 bd. I am super excited because of the money we spend on timeshares, we wouldn’t ever spend the extra money to stay onsite. I’m looking at it like the silver lining in the disappointment of the canceled 2 week stay for June. 😃😃

Okay, okay, I’ll get to the question. Do all of the 1 bedroom villas sleep 5 with the sleeper chair. Mom may want to tag along since it is a Disney resort and my 14 year old son has NO interest in sharing a bed with his mema. 😆. Anyone have any tips they can share. We have tickets and made park reservations but may cancel them, save them for next year, just enjoy hanging out at the resort and explore some other Orlando things. We will be driving in so we’ll have our car.

Yes. All the 1BR villas at OKW sleep 5 using the pullout chair.

You'll enjoy OKW. It has a very relaxed vibe. Olivia's (the table service restaurant) is great.

Be aware, that only 3 of the several dozen buildings at OKW have elevators. If stairs are an issue request a 1st floor room. But, it's just a request, so be prepared for going up a lot of stairs.

Worth pointing out that all 1BRs have only one bathroom and the older buildings have access to that bathroom only through the master bedroom. So it’s a very spacious 1BR, but with this one little issue for a family wanting a bit of privacy.

Thank you Steve and Bruce! Is there anything we can request that would increase the chance of having the bathroom with 2 entrances? It definitely wouldn’t be a deal breaker or anything we would complain about!

Thanks again! With me being an on-site/DVC newbie, I’m happy to hear any insider tips to make this trip a nice one even with the pandemic going on. We have always only visited WDW and one Disney outlet store so it might be good chance to see a couple of other things the Orlando area has to offer.

I like that it has a full size laundry room with a solid door you can close and not have to hear the machines working. I like to start a load at night while we're sleeping and it doesn't keep us awake.

The buildings are numbered 11 - 56 and then 62, 63, & 64. Check out a map of the resort.

Buildings 11-29 have the entrance to the bathroom only from the bedroom. These are the original buildings. The rest have a second door into the bathroom through the laundry room. Buildings 62 - 64 are the ones with an elevator.

Buildings 11 - 14 & 23 - 26 are designated as Hospitality House area and are a separate bookable category - limited ONLY to DVC members. They don't have the second door anyway, so the fact that you will not get one of those anyway as a non member, doesn't impact you. If you request a room in Turtle Pond or South Point sections, all those buildings have the second door. You can also request one of the elevator buildings, but this is a more difficult request to have granted. They typically try to use those buildings mostly for folks with mobility difficulties. But you can ask.

Dumb question- Is there an option or even slight possibly of a 2 bedroom at OKW? We love the 2 bedrooms and you get 2 actual beds plus another bathroom.

There isn’t a chance to make it a 2 bedroom. There was only one room available in RCI and luckily for us it was the week we wanted to travel. Disney properties are very very rarely available for exchange in RCI. This is our first shot at one in over 10 years. We are excited!
