OKW December GV all full

All weekdays are full for OKW Grand Villas in December.

I decided to make an extra long weekend vacation in early December. I called yesterday and while there are many weekend days available, no weekdays are available.

I waitlisted for two weekday, seperately, of course, and I will hope. I also have two weekend days reserved. I actually have four days waitlisted, the Wed and Thurs before, and the Sun and Mon after. I have each day waitlisted seperately, whichever two come first, I will cancel the others.

Maybe the Thur and Sun will become available, that would be cool too.

The eleven month window is VERY important during many times of the year, especially December.

Hope you have good luck with the waitlist, Rich. We haven't even gotten to the 7 month window yet! As you said, that 11 month window is often very important.

I know you hate FL, Rich, but it's nice to be able to make tentative plans without having to buying air tickets, isn't it? If everything falls through you can just call it off, or cut the vacation short. It's not enough to make me want to live in FL, but it's an advantage.

Just wondering if you can answer this for me, Rich. I'm hoping to get an OKW GV next year, late June. We own at OKW. How difficult do you think this will be? I'm hoping that because of the point cost that time of year most people will try for other times!

If you call 11 months ahead of time, I'm sure that you'll be successful. As you said, the high point requirement improves your chances. Many people want no part of a GV for that reason.

We reserved an OKW GV for November once, calling day by day at the 11 month mark. MS told us it wasn't necessary to do the day-by-day thing, but we did it any way. We also were able to reserve a GV in May the following year. This time we lived on the edge and called just once, 11 months before our checkout day. No problems.

So I think you'll be OK. Good Luck!

If you call for a GV at the 11 month window, day by day, you will have no problem getting one in June.

Thanks Jimbo and ncligs! I would rather not use all those points, either, but one of our group is a teacher and of course doesn't get any other vacation. I'll be sure to call day by day in order to improve my chances.
