OKW Community Hall -- Computers?

In the more than 40 nights I've stayed at OKW over the past 10 years, I don't think I've been in the "Community Hall" more than once or twice.

But I just noticed something in this picture posted on Deb Wills' allearsnet.com website:

Are those two computers sitting on the tables against the wall? And do they offer Internet access?

I spent a long, long time looking for some way to access Internet email during a stay a few years back, finally ending up at a Kinkos and paying something outlandish to use their public machines. Could I have found a solution right here at "home"?

Anyone know?

As far as I know, the computers at Community Hall do not offer internet access. I think they do have some games available on them, but without any internet access. For awhile there was an internet kiosk in Olivia's entryway, but that has been removed. (In addition, I think that may be an old photo taken prior to the rehab at Community Hall.)

There are also computers at Community Hall at SSR- also without internet access.

If you have a laptop, just bring it with you. Broadband is available in all of the villas ($9.95 per 24 hour period) as well as local dialup ($0.35 per call for members).

Enjoy!

I can confirm that the OKW Community Hall computers are for computer games only...no internet or network access.

The reason I remember is because we "checked out" OKW last year, and my DD jumped on an empty computer thinking she'd get on the internet. No, just games that guests can play.

She was mildly disappointed since she had been "spoiled" by the PlayStation games at BWV Community Hall.

Last I knew, the only way to get a computer with internet access at BWV is at the business center near the big function room-$10 for 15 minutes!

Glad to hear that I didn't overlook something in my previous search. And yes, Doc, we will be bringing a laptop this time!

We just came home from WDW on Tuesday 6/14. We needed to access the Internet to check an email from DS, who is in Europe on his college graduation trip.

Prior to leaving, I found out that the BW Lake Buena Vista in DTD has an Internet Cafe (called Parrot Cafe)as well as Internet in their Business Center, which is where we went.

It is 20 cents a minute but it is really $2.00 for 10 minutes as you must purchase a card, which starts as a $2.00.

It was very easy, you can either use cash or cc, you buy the card from the dispenser and then you just login w/the card on the computer.

Hope this helps.

Disney is generous with the time, though... We had a GOOD 24-hours for the fee... My hubby misses Internet access when we travel and we paid for it at Disney... Just carefully thought about when we'd use it. He usually sigend up at night and that way he got "two nights" use out of it... He was surprised that it was available at OKW so early... Somehow we though OKW would be "last!" We felt it was well worth the $10 for 24 hours although of course even that is a bummer when the inexpensive Wingate Inn on the trip down gives us FREE internet!
