OKW Building

What are some of the favorite buildings for OKW and what do you like best about them?

I have been to OKW nine times, I have had a different building every single time. I still don't request a building and only once in a while request to be near Turtle Pond.

We have never been disappointed with a location, or even found one to be way better or worse than any other. They all have great views, maybe woods, maybe water, maybe golf, all good.

We had building 64 forour first trip in December. We were in room 6430 on the 3rd floor in a 2 BR. It was perfect. It had a golf course view, was close to the hospitality house and very quiet. I could stay there every time.

Like Rich, we also take our chances on building location. I do, however, like the Southpoint area because of it's location near the DD walkway, and I like that quiet pool. We also stayed in building 20 or 21 and loved the view of the pond near our balcony. The birds were quite entertaining there. At building 53, we didn't see many birds, but had lots of bunnys etc.

decide what you want to see - water view, swimming pool view, woods view, or golf view and ask for that. I also ask to be near a bus stop. However I do love building 18 but I have not been there in about 3 years - DVC kepts putting me in the 50's.

We usually request building 55. It is one of the more secluded of the buildings in OKW and backs up to the cannal. As we usually have a car, being near the Commodore House is not a priority for us. The tranquility and quiet are our main concerns. We also request the top floor. This eliminates the "noise" of our neighbors above us. But truth be known, as long as I'm in OKW, I really don't care where they put us!

We have stayed at OKW 4 times now and have never requested a location. Each time has been a different building and always has been wonderfull! On our last trip (1/05/01 - 1/15/01) We were in one of the new buildings overlooking a par 3 with an island green! I can't wait to see where we end up next!

Been to OKW once or twice every year since 1993. We like stay in the turtle pond area because the neighborhood pool has a snack bar. All buildings are nice though.

We have also never requested a room and have not been disappointed. Some of the buildings near the bus stops can get noisy. The only location disappointment we had was once when we were assigned a "disabled" one-bedroom without a tub and with a "handicapped" shower. The only request we ever make since then is not to be put in one of those rooms.

We usually request the new buildings or Peninsular Road. Even though our request was not fulfilled on our last trip (Sept.) we were quite pleased with what we had. When we checked in we were told our room was not ready. I then asked what was available. They had a 1 br. available at Miller's Road. We got a 3rd floor room, which was nice to see the fireworks. I just prefer not to be in the boonies. I like to be near the "action"!! Looking forward to our next visit in...9 days!!
