We have a 2-BR suite (our first non-room ever!) booked in January. I thought the best place to ask about a preferred room location would be here at DVC. Really care more about the views/quiet than being close to Hospitality House. Any thoughts? Thanks:flower3: !

First, keep in mind that Hospitality House is a separate booking category so you've already decided to be either near or away from HH. You did that when you reserved.

Now as to your question about best? IMHO they are all pretty good. We prefer to be in the Turtle Pond area and typically request building 35 because its near the bus stop (but not too close), near the quiet pool (again not too close), and not near a major roadway outside of OKW.

One other point to consider with a 2 BR (or a 1BR) is that buildings 30 and higher have a separate entrance to the master bath through the laundry room so that people don't have to go through the master bedroom to get into the bathroom from the kitchen/living room area.

I'm just curious-when you request a certain building at OKW, what % of the time do you get it?

For quite and view canal front is good (unless you are bothered by a little boat noise) with building 55 2nd floor being the best.

Just returned from our trip to OKW and we stayed in Bldg. 46 second floor in a two bedroom. I would say Bldg. 45, 46 or 55 would have the best canal views and very peaceful/relaxing. I will request this area whenever I go back. The walk to the bus stop was very close and the walk to the Hospitality House wasn't bad either. A win/win in my book! :)

The favorite buildings I have stayed in are 37 and 43. Both are on Turtle Pond Road and are quiet with a nice view.

We're not fans of the "Near HH" booking category, so we won't have to ever book that one. We've been the the Turtle Pond area several times and also along the Trumbo Canal. You really can't find a bad location anywhere at OKW.

I find it works best to ask for "what" I want, rather than "where". So, I typically ask for "a quiet water view" rather than a specific building.

In our experience, around 75% of the time. We've actually become less and less concerned about getting a particular building and usually just state our preferences as being "Building 35 or around that area", or simply "Turtle Pond Road area".

My favorite area is "Near South Point Rd quiet pool". Views are good, it's near the pool (duh), it's away from roadways and has good access to the walkway to DTD.

Another choice that might work for you is "Trumbo Canal View" which emphasizes your interest in the view. Similar area to South Point quiet pool, but could put you in buildings 45-46, which are farther from the pool/DTD walkway, but closer to HH.

Thanks to everyone for my first 'Welcome Home'.:thanks:

Great information and exactly what I needed. I think some of my problems in the past is that I did make my request to specific and ended up getting bad rooms in the locations I asked for. I think by giving the assignors more flexibility I could end up in a better position. (Instead of beside the laundry room at AKL!)

Once again, thanks everyone!

And that building you are looking at in that last photo is our favorite building. We LOVE 45 and 46!!
